Good job I say!
State Highway Patrol Solo Unit members, conducting patrols of the Mitchell’s Track area with 4WD and trail bikes as part of Operation Crossroads, intercepted a convoy of campers about 12.45pm.
Of the five 4WDs, it was a Toyota Hilux that caught the eye of police after two teenagers were seen standing in the ute’s tray.
A check of the occupants revealed the 23-year-old driver, from Blind Bight, and his male passenger were not wearing seatbelts.
The group was forced to leave the Hilux behind and hitch a ride with their mates after it was found to be defective.
Police issued six penalty notices to the group for the unrestrained occupants and the defective vehicle.
