Anyone need a small freezer, I got me one of these.
« on: March 28, 2012, 05:48:19 PM »
So as we depart in a week on our Cape York round Australia adventure, we began to realize that we needed a small fridge for the meat.

As this was a bit of an after thought, we needed something small to fit int the car.

Looked at Anaconda today and i got me on of these on special

http://www.waeco.com.au/products5.asp?id=511&catId=57&subCatId=60&subCatId2=69

Fits in between the rear seats, between the kids, and is sooo nice for such a small unit. Power draw is bugga all and as i have an 80AH second battery, should last a few days.

Best thing, as they only had a display model, i got the unit UNDER $280 how good is that.

Only 11L but will fir enough meat for about one weeks worth or so, so all set now.

Mate, don't be afraid to let red meat [not chicken/fish etc] live in the fridge for a few weeks, provided it is cyrovaced.

Remember to pack every thing "square" before freezing as it takes up less room.

Have a great trip & let me know if you are up in the Clarence before 12th/13th April.

Regards

Wow thats an awesome price!!! Well done.

Same boat for us - We are heading off on a 3 month trip in just over a week and were thinking about getting a small fridge freezer like this to run as a meat freezer. But i didn't find a deal that good so will just cryovac instead.

Enjoy the trip - safe travels  8)

Gday  Wogs.
I use the next size up (25 ltr) as a fridge when out in our trucks and in the Cruiser whilst out working, The big fridge only comes out for trips now and the little one is on the front seat keeping drinks cold. From memory I paid about $350 for it from supercr@p.

Have a great trip guys and keep us updated when you get some time, your trip sounds like a cracker. :cup:
