Well it looks like it might be interesting this year up the Cape ..... Late wet and now a cyclone to top it off. Hope they don’t get to much and the tracks don’t open in time :'(

Will be busy at home cleaning up and getting all the pot plants and outdoor table and chairs ect ect inside before Friday night. Will chain the camper trailer to the fence and fill the boat with water. Have cancelled my fishing trip to Hinchinbrook this weekend as I don't think the tent pegs would hold up in the wind. Bloody cyclones.

Going to Dan Murphy's to fill my self up so I don't get blown away ;D

It seems to be moving southwest which may have it skirting the Coast.
Still hours away from Cairns.

Ooooh look tracking straight over home according to the forecast maps.
Genny fuelled, beer cold and all battened down. Stay safe all and hope all's well as we progress....

A bloke here showed up yesterday evening to start this morning and he showed up at breakfast at mess and is heading home. He has a goose neck at Malanda (how ever it's spelt) and is heading back to sort it all out.
I'm not sure why he even showed up this week with that cyclone coming. Hope he gets everything sorted. He has a 12hour drive home from here at work.

Hope all the swaggers up this way are safe and sound. If you are up near Mareeba and need somewhere to shelter will always have a bit of room.

Mark does the late cyclones have an impact on the timing for the roads to open and general access.. how long typically would it take
for things to get back to seasonal norms?? just wondered how much deeper the creeks will be in July :)
Cheers

The damage was done from Cooktown south so all roads to the Cape have not been affected. The rivers at the beginning of the wet season are always up but do subside pretty quick. If you are not doing the OTL you won't cross any creeks without bridges already in place.

We are aiming to hit the Telegraph track from Bramwell about 10th July, but will have to pick the creeks as i am towing
the camper trailer..
