I have just bought a 2nd hand Cameron camper and transferred the Rego yesterday at the RTA. I needed a blue slip as it had NT Rego on it. The lady at the RTA put it in the system As a folding caravan, therefore no stamp duty to pay. Maybe it is worth getting a new blue slip for $38 and getting them to call it a caravan and not a box trailer.

I would like to thank all the people here for all the useful advice. Without it I certainly would have lost my money.  As for what new fridge GG, well I will probably do some research on this forum to work that out.

If it was Paul at the RTA then he knows about the no stamp duty thing, as he transfered mine no worries, (although he seems to give me a hard time for every thing else :-[) so it pays to check that the blue slip is filled out correctly.

Yes T man it was Paul, and he did know about the camper trailer stamp duty situation, but he did not bother to tell me that I should have had it marked as caravan instead of box trailer on the blue slip even though it was clearly stated that it was a camper trailer. I thought that was very rude of him.

However all is good now as he organised for the RTA to refund me, although I had to really push the issue.
