Things To Do: Pichi Richi Railway
« on: April 29, 2011, 09:44:51 AM »
The Pichi Richi Railway is an operating museum, operating regular heritage train journeys on the oldest remaining section of the famous narrow-gauge old Ghan Railway.

The journey operates from Quorn which is 34km from Wilmington.

During the MySwag Meet the Pichi Richi Explorer will run at the following times from Quorn:

Saturday 1 October 10:30am: Double-header with Afghan Express Woolshed Flat-Quorn
Sunday 2 October 2:30pm: Teddy Bear’s Picnic - bring your favourite bear. Returns to Quorn approx 5pm.
Monday 3 October 10:30am
Tuesday 4 October 10:30am

The service enables travellers to experience train travel as it was 100 years ago on country lines. The carriages were used on narrow gauge trains such as the Great Northern Express, services in the South East of SA, the Ghan and the East-West Express.

•South Australian timber bodied carriages - up to 115 years old
•Quorn to Woolshed Flat and return (32km)
