Ok if that is the case it will be the only forum I look at that needs that now and a reel pain in the ass,  its why Iam never on here anymore, Thanks NZMarkb,

I use Tapatalk for all my forums, both reading and posting. No issues with inserting photos where I want in the post or sizing them.

Craig,

When I put photos up I put them on Flickr and then link them to MySwag. I don't reduce the size of the photos, but have to select what size I want to be displayed. Initially the photos appear small on MySwag, but if you click them they will enlarge to whatever size you want, small, medium, large, etc.

I believe this is a great way to do it because I couldn't imagine how long some threads would get if all photos were displayed full size. Flickr is free to use.

In case you haven't seen it here are two examples, just click on each.

Hi,
    Some forums will automatically resize to a max of 600x800 pixels by adding a bit of code to the link that embeds the photo.
If you need your image to be viewed full size for (say) fine detail like an electrical circuit, provide a link to the full size image so it will download to a new tab in a browser.

I think the issue is Craig isnt just linking from external like Flickr etc
hes directly attaching them..

When linking from External, the system will resize them automatically <img width=640 etc... for displaying only but the file can be huge with no issue.

but when 'attaching' them locally to the forum there is a file size limit. This is the issue. Back when people were on dial up it was an issue to attach 20 massive files to a thread, but these days isnt really such an issue... but as austastar says 10 people attaching 20 huge files can slow things...  IMWO, it file size could be raised from 500kb which is tiny...

Thanks every one for the tips. I use to be able to do it on two computers ago, but now we bought new gear and its been rebuilt by our son a couple times I have not got a clue, And Iam not keen to learn either If I can bung them on with what I got I will not bother, . Mite come on and read a few posts every now and then, and not post photos, Thanks every one

Simplest way to resize is to open them in MSPaint (comes with windows)...
Open the image
click the resize button...
FILE SAVE AS - save it as a new name so you keep the small one and the original. Then use the attach option above to attach the smaller image..
you can see the image file size in File Explorer
