It is 13 months since we took delivery of our camper and we have now done 73 nights away in it, returning today from our longest trip - 6 weeks from the Sunshine Coast Hinterland to the Red Centre and back.
Great times, but the point of this post is to share our surprise that, so far, we have virtually had no rain on the tent. It showered briefly during the day once in Orange, NSW, on our first trip a year ago but we were not there when it happened and the canvas soon dried. So, not a single wet pack-up. We haven't avoided the coast either, with 14 of the nights being close to the ocean. There were only a few days with any cloud in the sky over the last 42 nights travelling over via The Plenty, around the East and West MacDonnells, down to Uluru/Olgas and back via the Isa then across to the coast via Emerald with our last two camps at Yeppoon and Hervey Bay.
Ironic, isn't it, that as I type this tonight, with the camper now parked and under its cover, it is pouring with rain!
Cheers
Oddy
