Has anyone purchased anything from that 4wd supacentre website? They seem to have a few bits and pieces I would be interested in for a decent price but not sure what the quality of their gear is like. I'm mainly keen on their 12v Impact wrench and roof top bag.

Any feed back is appreciated

Well they just recently did a recall on their 8000kg snatch straps if thats any indication. (yes i have sent one back)
I did buy one of the thumper portable air compressors after looking at numerous other & come to the conclusion that their like chinese campers (all the same).
Have tested it & seems ok, but not under real world conditions only in the backyard to make sure it worked.
I think the the old adage "you get what you pay for applies", so if its not something you'll use every day then why buy the most expensive, the only problem though is generally i found things in the lower price bracket tend to deteriorate quicker than quality gear when not in use

Bought their Titan brand drawers for the 200 series and had to place a 12mmboard under the to get the to fit without damaging the car, they threw in the roof top bag as part of the sale, but it took nearly 2 months to arrive. It is still I its box and haven't checked it out yet so unsure of quality, drawers are fine

I have purchased thier Thumper air compressor late last year. There specials change daily so if you are keen on something in particular sign up on their website and you will receive an email nearly everyday and you may find a better deal. Sometimes they include freight and sometimes not so keep this in mind. Been happy with the compressor, as stated it is similar design to many on the market. Has aired up the patrol and camper combo a few times now and in decent time. Can't comment on any other of there products though sorry.

Got the thumper air compressor hose blew out first time i used it. Went and bought an arb compressor which i should have done in the first place. What was that quote i read the other day. A tight backside pays twice.

I've been looking at the domin8r winch. They're the tiger brand which I've heard isn't bad value for money... We'll se when I'm in the middle of nowhere & need it

Can't remember if a friend told me or I read it somewhere but the impact wrench burnt out really quick with no satisfactory resolution.

This I think is the business model:
1. Buy an example of a high quality locally made product.
2. Send it off to China with instructions to copy it, but to cut the guts out of the price.
3. Quality must be okay but appearance is the priority.
4. Ship them back to Australia by the container load.
5. Sell on the internet at a cheap price and reluctantly cop any warranty claims.
Sounds like a plan.

I got the double swag, hand held radios and the free camping locations book in a deal. The swag is pretty good, my mate at work has had one for a year and he said that it is pretty good. The hand held radios are pretty good, the kids use them and we have used them a few times whilst doing some 4WD. The book seems pretty informative as well.

hi StrvnMrvn
can you let know how that swag pans out. Esp' size wise. I mean, I know it's the same width as Queen sized bed. Juts wondering how it "feels" with two adults inside it.

Muru,
The swag has plenty of room. I'm 190cm tall and there is plenty of room left at each end. SWMBO, myself and the daughter (4) fit in. I got a self inflating mattress as well, but it does come with a 5cm foam mattress that you could get away with in a pinch.
Where abouts are you at? I know my local 4wd Supacentre has one set up and that is where I got the chance to have a look at it, both rolled up and setup.

Close mate got a thumper at the 4x4 show in bris this year, $99! So far it has survived LCMP and we have just done the cape, amongst other fun weekends it has worked well and so far so good!
Cheers

Have used the Domin8er winch to pull friends out 7-8 times now and it works a treat.

I have a thumper too and it works really well. I have had it for a few years only complaint is the cheap plastic colied air hose. I have replaced it with an quality ARB one and couldn't be happier.

Has anyone fitted one of their exhausts or LED Light Bars?
-
Yes looking at one of their exhausts.
Asked my local muffler place for a quote on anexhaust
and he came back with $1150 for a Berklee sysyem.
He said better quality than a lot of others,
Checked 4WD supacentre Berklee $850...
Anybody with one fitted to a 76.

I've been keeping an eye on them and they seem to drop down to 595/695 for the steel/409 versions

$750 this week for stainless.
-
Just be careful with the first 20 orders get the free gift/extra. Impossible to get someone to answer the phone and only sent out when I got them on email
-
Thanks kiwipride, it's good to get a bit of feedback on their winches.
For those looking at the stainless exhausts, I was advised on another forum to go the aluminised steel option as the stainless doesn't like the quick temperature changes that come with creek crossing too much
