Can someone tell me what the diff is between the Joolca and the Country Comfort unit.
Both look the same and make the same claims but the CC is a bit cheaper.

What are gas HWS users experience with pumps.
What is recommended as a LPM min to get a decent shower.
4.3, 6, of greater.

It really depends on what else you need to use the pump for.

For a gas HWS like the HOTTAP, which operates from 4LPM to 6LPM, I'd recommend getting a 6LPM pressure pump. Why? At 4LPM you get the highest increase in source water temperature, 35C. So, if you decide to camp during summer, and your source water is 15C, your output water will be 50C. Whereas, at 6LPM, you get a 25C increase. This would give you a 40C shower. In my experience, it is easier for the kids to handle a 40C shower as opposed to a 50C shower.

So, 6LPM. Why limit your unit with a 4.3LPM pump when it is capable of more?

Now, if you need to fill up your water tanks or just move large amounts of water, you should grab a higher flow pump. The HOTTAP, for example, doesn't have issues if you use a 17LPM pump. It still regulates it down to 6LPM, so it's as if you are using a 6LPM pump, but now you have a high flow pump to move around a ton of water as well!

To get a decent shower, you can get away at any flow from 4LPM to 6LPM. 4LPM in the middle of a cold winter is more than enough to warm you up and get you fresh and clean. In summer, 6LPM is perfect for washing all the sweat off.

Hi Bart. Just a quick question on the pumps  - we have a hottap with one of your 6LPM pumps and were wondering how far will it pump water??  We normally just use a bucket but would be handy when we're next to a creek.  Cheers

Hey! The FLOTAP6 has 60PSI of pressure, so it has a decent 'push' behind it. It will happily pump water 20/30m up a small incline, I have actually used it for this. When you do pump from a creek make sure to use a suction filter on the inlet side of the pump just to avoid getting any debris into the pump.

Coincidentally, we will be introducing a filter specifically for this application early next week! If you don't already have a filter, I suggest jumping onto our website next week and having a look :)!

Hope this helped :)

Well I used the new hottap down at the farm................

First go......Absolutely nothing..............
Cold shower in freezing temperatures......
Not at all happy Jan  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Brought it home and tried it with hose and it of course worked fine.  :-[ :-[ :-[
Retried it and it turned out I had the flow switch on the existing shower head down waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy too low.
A bit more flow and it was happier than a dog breaking into a butchers.

Sooooo nice to flick a switch and have hot water pumped all over you while the temperature reads 6 degrees outside!!!!
Also really nice to have a shower and get rid of the smoke smell before going to bed... ;D

Really happy with the unit. The quality is clearly a lot better than other units we have had.
Thanks Bart.

Hi Bart,

I finally got to test out the unit this afternoon, it worked a treat. I love the simplicity of it   :cup:

Looking forward to going camping now to test it out properly

Does the GASKNECT kit go on the gas inlet on the heater unit?
Does it connect to the supplied gas hose that comes with the unit?

Yep!

The GASKNECT kit attaches as follows:

The male end screws onto the gas inlet of the heater unit
The female end will attach to the gas hose (outlet side)

Then, it is just plug and play :)!

The kit will work with the supplied gas hose!

Hope the attached image helps

There are no negative reviews on this hot water system so you have sold me.
I am very impressed with your reviews and comments on your after service, something you should be proud of and other business should take note of.
Where is the best place and price to purchase this unit?
