Another Newby in Gippsland Vic!
« on: July 07, 2011, 08:28:46 AM »
Hi there all.  I have been looking at this forum for some time now thanks to a friend who put me onto it.  There is certainly a lot of info and some 'interesting' posts/opinions/banter and brand loyalty.  We have been campers (no, not that type!) for most of our lives and some years ago graduated to a tent trailer.  From there we imported via a friend a Colemen camper trailer from the US with a fair bit of fruit on it.  We moved on from that and bought a Jayco Eagle in April 2010, again with a fair bit of fruit on it.  Funnily enough we still have our tents and swags and continue to use them too.

Regards  Rob

Welcome to Myswag Rob.  To import a whole camper from the US would have been a bit of a task wouldn't it?

Thankyou and yeah it was a bit of work but fortunately at the time my friend was importing a few different bits and pieces and took care of all the hardwork, certainly a bit of red tape involved.  A big lesson learned however, their canvas is not up to scratch for Aussie standards IMO.  At the time to get the same extras ie HWS, O/S shower, King bed, etc etc was not common on Aussie campers, certainly is now though!
