Good morning Pioneer Camper Owners,
We have today issued a Press Release illustrating that Pioneer Campers Trailers business will be sold to a proud new owner in the very near future.
Our greatest wish and intentions is to see the iconic, premium Pioneer Camper Trailer brand continue and prosper in Australia and beyond for many years to come!
As our valued customers and brand advocates, we wanted to ensure this communication was reached directly from us rather than you hearing it from another source.
Please be assured that we will continue to honour and engage warranty and service work from our South Dandenong facility, at this time
.
Should you have any questions, please contact us at service@pioneercampers.com.au or speak with Jane Riley on 03 8791 7555.

Guess it's better news than we are used to hearing from Camper companies of late, their latest review on their facebook page doesn't sound good though, seem to remember hearing similar reviews of other previously well-regarded companies before they went bust.

agree...
but wonder if they are all being bought by the one company that has absorbed a few in recent times...

interestingly... and different (in a key way) to this version of the story...
http://rvdaily.com.au/pioneer-camper-trailers-business-for-sale/ (http://rvdaily.com.au/pioneer-camper-trailers-business-for-sale/)
"Actco-Pickering Metal Industries (APMI), Australia P/L has announced their subsidiary business, Pioneer Camper Trailers is on the market for immediate sale. Actco-Pickering Metal Industries announced the plan today, including its intention to cease manufacturing of the Pioneer camper trailer range operations this month."

Didn't they buy the brand an IP from a WA company a few years ago?

If by a few you mean about 7 then looks like you are right http://www.pioneercampers.com/pioneering-story/our-story (http://www.pioneercampers.com/pioneering-story/our-story)

I did have the same thought but re-reading it after reading the press release by muru, it looks like a buyer hasn't actually been found yet. I still wouldn't be surprised ifs bought by MDC though as it would kind fit in between their Camel Camper soft floors and their AusRV Caravan Range for their Aussie made offerings.

They bought the brand and IP yes, but then did a wholesale redesign of the range.
Funny, I was out bush and someone asked about mine. They were very interested in its quality and were keen on the Mitchell but almost completely put off by the sales manager.
-
Still no news of buyers by the looks of it.
-
Rumour I heard today was the sale is almost complete to a South African company. That was the info coming out of the Perth Caravan show.
-
Got told today that the sale will be complete by next week to a Victorian off road caravan manufacturer. Good news for Pioneers owners if it 's true.

Anything is possible these days.

I guess a South African company could sell through an existing Australian dealer, probably not all that far fetched in reality.

Conquerer?

maybe whoever it ends up being will pick up Kimberly as well?
-
The sale has gone through and the name will be announced.
Several Acto Pickering staff will go across.
The Dandenong factory will stop doing repairs.
-
Saw KK at the Sydney caravan and camping show yesterday, they had about 5 trailers on display.

Even if it was a messy "divorce" , KK isn't for sale that I'm aware of ?
-
The new Pioneer owner is Trakmaster in Bayswater, Melbourne.
KK I gather didn't go broke but's been split into two: manufacture and R&D.

So envee is the winner then

Received notification today that the Pioneer brand has been purchased by Caramax Pty Ltd trading as Trakmaster who are owned by AF Gason Pty. Ltd.
From the look of the brochure issued they will drop the Argyle range and run with the Onyx and Longreach hardfloors and the Wilpena and Mitchell hard roof models.
Good to see that the brand name will continue. As stated before it looks like several Pioneer staff have been relocated to the new owners as well.

Got the same email. Certainly seems like a good match. Great to see a company with the confidence to buy the Pioneer brand. Can't imagine it would have been cheap !
