Thanks to those who have given their input to my little poll, indifferent or otherwise. I have gained some really good stats and idea of the general tastes in music.

I am working on putting a Myswag ditty/jingle/song together but I don't know how I am going to craft it together now. Maybe a Country Rock Rythm with Punk overtones, over an Old time/bluegrass melody just to suit the majority. ;D ;D ;D

That's is what this whole little project is all about after all.

You do whatever works mate, I know how tricky it can be to write a song that actually works with music. I am happy to provide drunken backup vocals and general guitar bashing. Just don't write about the electrical section...

Thought i would add my 2 bobs worth to this music thread   ;D

I have been a muso since i can remember and finally retired from playing 12 months ago.
I have played every pub and dive from the major cities to the outback and been doing it since i was 13yo. I play blues traditional style, blues/rock rock and country rock.

When i am out in the bush alone i only play some subtle acoustic or hit up my dobro resonator and write a few tunes and record to my portable Zoom H2, the bush puts me in the spot. At home in my home studio with my electric guitars well all hell can and will break loose once i get a head of steam up.

I respect others peace and quiet when out in the bush and dont break out the acoustic unless asked to or as i said am on my own.

Nothing worse for me than hearing some screaming banshee blowing out of a hi powered system in the middle of the bush in the middle of the night, i prefer to hear the creepy sound of the critters rustling around close by.

I reckon in this day and age and with whats available if you want to listen to something and theres other camps involved nearby, put a headset on and blow your own ears ta buggery and leave everyone else in peace.

I really like the quiet of the bush. But if there are a few people round the campfile then a singalong is not bad for a while. As long as its something that a few people can join in with.

My problem is i write all my own material and don't play covers, this can put you in a spot in some pubs as people are yelling out can you play this or play that. One venue owner down in Sth Gippland last year yelled out " turn it up play it loud" then she yelled louder!! that was pretty much a 1st for me from a venue owner.

At night we usually sit around the campfire and talk or let the mind wander into the  flickerof the flames against the dark night sky, if we are around the camp during the day we will have a bit of rock going in the background.

I could listen to someone else play an instrument all night but unfortunately I am musically challenged  ;D

When we're heading off for a camping trip we like to play John Williamson while we're driving as it just seems to make us feel like we're really hitting the bush, if you get my drift.   Also like Graeme Connors - he has some great lyrics.    Around the camp, we just like the silence and the sounds of the bush, but would actually like to have someone playing live so we could maybe sing along - have never had the privilege of that experience.
I also love country rock - Keith Urban, Adam Brand, Steve Forde, some Sunny Cowgirls, The McClymonts etc.etc.

Im a very easy listener and like most types of tunes . If with the family a bit of johnny cash , country stuff and some newer stuff but with mates more rock seems to be played . Also i seem to always play some red hot chilli peppers .

Anything goes, as long as I cannot hear it at my campsite.  I hate these boat anchors who spoil the camping experience for others with their loud music.  Why go somewhere peaceful, then ruin it with loud music?

Live music, around the campfire, as in the Snowman is great; just wish I could play.
Why is the 1st Tea of the day the best?
