Photobucket fix
« on: November 01, 2017, 04:10:07 PM »
Came across this on another forum that I frequent and thought I would share the info (apologies if it has already been mentioned.

I applied the fix and it took about 20 seconds. Seems to have worked and the grey speedo things have changed to pretty pictures  ;D

instructions are simple -
"If you're using Google Chrome, go to the three dots on the right side of the screen and click them. A drop down should appear. Hover your mouse over "More Tools," and when the next drop down appears, click on extensions. Go to the link towards the bottom that says "Get more extensions." In the search box, type "Photobucket Fix," and hit enter. Click the install button and once it's done, you should be able to see photobucket pictures again.

For FireFox users, click on the three bars on the right side of the screen, then click on Add-ons. Click Search for "photobucket hotlink" and click install. Same result."

edit - can't seem to find a fix Internet Explorer though  :'(

Yeah I know, but I use some external council links at work, and a lot of their mapping doesn't work very well on chrome, so I spend most of my time on IE.

Yeah, same.
Corporate policy is IE only, apparently it works better with the IT department's spyware. Big brother has to see everything ya know... ;)

Fortunately I 'somehow' managed to get both my computers set up with administrator rights.... ;D

I just googled "Photobucket hotlink fix" and got the same result.
It saved a heap of otherwise dead threads by unlocking all of those images.

Fortunately there wasn't that many people that got as cranky as me and deleted all of their photos and closed their Photobucket accounts.

Unfortunately there's no fix when using Tapatalk.... :(
