How good is Cadel going this year, hope he gets the

, great to see he finally has a decent team supporting him for once. A few massive days to go in the alps at the end of the week and it could be his. Love it, but the sleep deprivation is a killer.

Cadel is fab this year, funny how last years winner, Contador, is so far back in the field (12 mins behind Cadel). But then after tonight's rest day Contador may move on up as they head into the alps. Hope it all go's well for Cadel. But I still cant believe that guy who got 23 stitches in his leg is still riding. Brave man.

gotta watch those trees, they jump right out in front of you...

must be why so many ride down beach road 5 wide - no trees, then complain when one gets hit while causing nightmares for cars on weekends.

Contador is only 1.54 behind Cadel - I wish he was 12 mins behind!!!

The Alps is where it is all going to play out - if Cadel is where he is now come the time trial in Grenoble he should be able to do it.

I tape the Tour on Foxtel then watch it when I get up in the morning - saves on the lack of sleep!

I'm hoping that WADA and the UCI come through with the appeal and strip him of everything, Giro and the other stage / one day wins.

The Race is awesome, Cadel is going great, and I think he's in almost a perfect spot for his race plan. I'd love to see him attack more though, but I guess thats not his style.
Hey lost, don't hate the cyclist, they add a bit of colour to our grey city.

Cadel's ridden the perfect race so far. If he can keep the Schelecks within a minute or so, and Contador behind, then he's looking the goods. Big nights Thurs and Fri this week.

Interesting to hear Robbie M. bagged Cadel about always wanting to ride near the front of the peloton (Lotto days) - hasn't been a bad plan so far this year!

It's the only sporting event in which I have any interest, and I am rivetted by it. Just love the tactical battles, the breakaways, the heartbreaking way the peleton just reels the breakaways in when they feel like it (most times, anyway).
Only complain is that here in Perth we get shortchanged. It usually starts at 8.30 (Perth time) and runs until near midnight. Tonight, however, it starts at 9.30 to make way for some wank program, which means we are shortchanged even further.
Next year, may make the trek east to watch more of the race. Good excuse for a trip.
By the way, Cam, we share a surname. Maybe we're distant rellies!

Small world - the "other" Tony is in Melbourne. We're all Taswegians back to the convicts....

I'm thinking there's a place where the Tour stages start and finish at even more civilised times, and the weather's nicer too. Might try that next year if all goes to plan. Want to hire a motorhome, buy a road bike over there, and maybe ride a couple of the col's whilst touring around. Will have to get a Myswag flag to wave!

I just thought it was going to be a non eventful stage as far as the GC goes and it was until Contador attacked. Great to see Cadel's response and it shows that Voeckler, Basso, and the Shleck's are weakening.

I just hope he has the legs to keep up in the Alps as no doubt Contador will try again.

Don't think I've seen Cadel ride a better stage in the TDF - psychologically it had to be a huge victory.

Agree, so happy he put time into Contador. The four seconds may appear small, but it's the fact he could do it, even with a fellow Spaniard helping Contador after the descent.

WOW what a stage last night.

Full credit has to go to Andy for that super gutsy move - I thought he was mad to go with 60km to go.

I think Cadel will have his work cut out for him on Alpe D'Huez - hopefully Andy used all his energy last night, but Frank did nothing and will have the freshest legs.

Loved the look of Voeckler's face coming into the finish line - that is what the Tour is all about - guts and glory!

. Late nights means no riding for my daughter and I this morning but it will be a pleasure to see Cadel ride into Paris tonight.

I'm so glad for Cadel. You could see it in his eyes that he was very emotional. last year he was world champion and this year Le TOUR champion. He's the first aussie to wim the event. Well done Cadel.
