How do we get some beaurocrats and politicians with a bit of spine?
I have the misfortune in having to watch the wife's "trade show" so I get the V8's in my time, but I have to sit through Border Security.
Bloody near every episode there are inbound traveller's, usually Asian, with suitcases full of food. Much of this crap could decimate Australian production with diseases like Foot & Mouth, Mad Cow Disease and the like. You would have thought the idiots who set fines would have learnt by now that the penalty needs to act as a deterrent, but no. Last night some Asian maggots decided that a big bag of raw pork sausages and heaps of other dangerous gear was worth the risk, and the maximum fine for the potential billions it would cost taxpayers was a less than staggering $350. These idiots just spent thousands on holidays, and all we can give them is a maximum $350 ?????
Secondly, a couple of weeks ago I felt relieved that the Muslim terrorists were caught at the Aussie airport trying to smuggle a bomb into the plane. I thought beauty, the system works. Now we find out they were only caught because the wankers hand luggage was 7kg over weight. If these idiots had half a brain and a set of scales the whole plane would have been destroyed.
With our current system, or lack of, we are close to being doomed.
the problem is they don't want to offend anyone... **** em I say

we went around the aouth island of NZ like that. Rocked up to a pub and asked what their special was bought a local beer if they had one then asked if we could park our "Sleepinabus" overnight.
All but one pub said yes. We did not eat or stay for a second beer at the pub that said no.

Plenty of pubs doing that now....we stayed out back of Shane Webcke's pub at Leyburn a few times for free years back... would arrive Friday and leave on Sunday, they just asked that one night you have a meal at the pub. There's a free camp that was all dirt pretty much a short walk away also, but here had green grass and hot showers and flushing toilets, all only a very short stagger from the beer garden. Gotta watch what some pubs are like though, Nindigully does free camping, but you don't want to be close to the pub on weekends and best to camp right down the back, the locals like a late night / party to all hours out there, so to close and you get bugger all sleep.
