Hung a chandelier on the weekend for the Mrs. She bought the big heavy bastard 13 years ago and it's sat in the garage ever since. I told her I'd get around to it......
Had to winch it into position. Hope it doesn't fall.

She 'rescued' it from a local antique shop to go in a stairwell we never ended up building. Ended up putting it over the front steps. It looks well out of place but the boss is happy.

Chances are she thinks it looks out of place too, but she won't dare let you know for fear of a "I told you so"  moment

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
One persons treasure, is another mans rubbish.
And if you called it rubbish, that's when the fight starts!!!

Must be something about spring!! I've also spent a fair chunk of the day tidying up the shed.
Finally got around to fixing the gas burner in the C.T that hasn't been burning as hot as it should, greased all the spring hangers after returning from our trip (a while ago) and am now in the process of working out if I should sell it to make room for the new Kimberley or keep it and rent it out instead. I'd like to sell it but It's a solid Aussie made soft floor that would be competing in the price range of a new Chinese import, renting obviously has its own issues.

A few weeks ago I finally got power hooked up to my shed, but I have had a slight water problem I've had to sort out since doing so. When I hand dug the trench to run the power in across the backyard, I smashed through what I thought was a rubbish piece of clay pipe in the last 200mm of the trench I dug. The old clay pipe was about 150mm under the grass, and I know it had nothing to do with any of my storm water or sewer pipes (I got new pvc pipe put in years ago), and the big sewer mains is right on the back fence, so thought nothing of the old clay pipe. A few days after power was hooked up it rained here, and a day later water was flowing up out of the trench I had dug and since back filled. Today I redug the end of the trench up, cut back tree roots and the ends of the busted clay pipe, then grabbed a bit of 100mm pvc pipe and a couple of fernco connections from the local plumbing supply store, and repaired the busted pipe. I then had to walk down the road with my wheelbarrow to where they are doing some earthworks at the school, and grabbed some top soil to fill the trench up that has sunk since it rained.
Hopefully my water issue is now resolved.

Spent the morning cleaning the mould and birdsheet off the bag ends and annex.
Reminder to self....make sure the bag ends mesh is also DRY before being put away.
Wipe exit mould ( I know I know but it works ) on rag over vinyl, wipe off with clean water rag and then spray and wipe with vinyl cleaner/conditioner....and allow everything to DRY   8)

Cheers
Rob

I sanded some paint and then welded up some more car panels.

Then with the new welder I welded up the broken brace on the shed door. The bloody thing used to twist and it was always a battle to close it securely.

Now the brace is welded on where it broke away 4 years ago, ... it is still a battle to close it securely >:(, but at least it doesn't twist now :D
