Morning All
« on: September 07, 2012, 09:14:56 AM »
Hi All,

Well thought it might be high time to formally introduce Myself and the family (1 boy aged 12 & 1 girl aged 8.

My Wife and I have been researching for what seems to be a lifetime, but finally purchased our first C/T a 2008 Customline Deluxe Off Road 12ft with full annexe, hot dipped fully gal trailer.

For the time being will be towed by the family sedan (big shout out to rossow/Nick for his help here)

Took it to the local caravan park over fathers day for a setup and play. With stood the rain storms and high winds, no issue apart from a little leak where I didn't attached the annexe properly to the tent, but refitted the Velcro and all was good.

This site is a wealth of information, that both my wife and I have used extensively

Hope the pic works out !

Cheers, Scott & Angela

Welcome to the madhouse.

Lots of info and ideas on mods around here as well as some really friendly folk.

Are you planning on getting a 4wd?

Welcome aboard guys!

You've made a great choice of camper - you'll get many years of enjoyment from an investment in a good camper like a Customline.

Any big trips planned?

Welcome Toddy_1

We have a 2009 Customline and love it.  We also had the same thing with the velcro on the annexe but soon worked it out heehee  :cup:

I tend to drive my hubby mad by wanting everything straight....even on uneven ground (which makes him head to the esky more frequently for some reason... :-*)

Welcome Scott & Angela

You picked a bad weekend for your maiden voyage, but you probably still had a great weekend.

Thanks for your responses, very kind.

Yeah, we are a 2 car family and my car (the old hand me down) will need replacing. Once owned a SWB Pajero before kids and did trips to Fraser and a like. Once kids came along, went the family wagon (which is my drive now). So we've had the upgrade conversation and a 4wd will be on the table.

Heading north over the School Holidays for 10 days, so really looking forward to that !

The C/T is basic to the extent there is no kitchen, power or on board water, none of which is an issue at present as we like to camp pretty basic, but powered sites in a caravan park do just nicely.

We fell in love with the Customline after seeing them at a few shows, weighed up new over second hand and decided second hand would be a better fit for the first one.

Anyway, will post up some pics after a couple of trips and to remain in touch.

And Mace, planning a trip to Landcruiser Mountain, think the Aurion will cope ?!      ;D

Enjoy life, Scott

They're an excellent Off Roader!!  ;D

Ours copes with Kerb climbing every time SHMBO parallel parks it.

The approach and departure angles are a little restricted, and they are in dire need of a front diff lock.
