Another good one is Bridge of Spies,  but I'm a Tom Hanks fan. Good story just the same

Kodi streaming question.
Some programmes I try to watch are slow, bufferring every couple of minutes and a real PITA.
Others run no problems.
Is it the file source or my internet connection.
Do some sources have a slow download speeds?
I'm on Telstra ADSL. Only thing available here.

Cheers Glen

I have an Australian Netfix account.
I use unogs.com to search every Netfix library in the world.
with the aid of a VPN can then stream whatever I choose.

I have fibre at 100mbs here and have the sane thing. ADSL might struggle a bit overall. you will get sources that don't work, some work better than others. Could play with the buffer size settings, start and pause the file to let it build up a buffer or even download the file and watch it  as it downloads or when it has finished (doesn't work with all add ons).

The two best sources I have found are Xmovies8 and 123movies. Very rare to get a show that doesn't work.

We have both Netflix and Foxtel Now. 90% of the time we watch Netflix and only the 13 yo daughter regularly watches Foxtel Now.  Also tested free trials of Stan, YouTube Red and Amazon Prime, but just didn’t watch them enough to keep paying.

And what about streaming movies?

Bigpond movies is the only one I’ve found that actually has latest release movies, but the payment page glitches out heaps. Lately it’s been too much trouble and we just give up.

All other movie streaming sites are stuck in the old video store model, ie; latest release movies are 2 years old and the special of the week is Dirty Dancing or Gost. :(

Not interested in anything Fox, not interested in any series or tv shows.
Just want to legally watch the latest release movies as soon as they’re out of the cinemas.

Has anyone found a decent alternative to Bigpond Movies??

It's funny but we are the exact opposite. The daughter watches Netflix mostly and we watch Foxtel. Costs me a bloody fortune but we seem pretty hooked on the Lifestyle shows and of course Fox Sports so don't see much of a way out at the present

We run Foxtel as our only streaming service, sport, entertainment and docks. Record a lot of BBC series etc and watched whenever we like. Sport is Abigail winner here too, AFL, Supercars, Cricket etc.
Bundled with Telstra NBN plan.

Foxtel is still far too much of a rip off in Australia. Paying to watch ads?? Give me a break. If they made it so it was on a pay per channel system with a reducing rate for each extra channel...or something like that....but of course they wont, because virtually nobody would buy 90% of the garbage channels that they give you and promote. I would guess sport and licences to new release movies and series would take up a huge chunk of their costs along with the news casts etc. + their sponsorships.
Reruns of 60s 70s 80s 90s tv series and old movies would cost stuff all in comparison.  I simply cannot justify the $. Would love to and dont begrudge those who have it and can afford it or rather justify the expense. Maybe when i retire in 20 years time. Until then its good old free to air tv.

we have Foxtel and Apple TV. (the latter, giving us access to Netflix, Youtube, Stan and Amazon)

I watch almost nothing on Foxtel. The wife likes all the Lifestyle home shows and the like. Oh and she loves her UKTV channel. I phoned them to cancel the service when we recently moved and they offered us all channels for $50 a month for one year. If they can't/won't continue that offer... we will cancel it.

I used to watch Netflix a lot. Now... just for (all) the Star Trek series(s).

Watched Stan maybe twice. Never renewed after that.

I mainly watch YouTube. 4wd and remote touring videos.

If Amazon decide to pick up The Expanse though... we'll subscribe for a month when it's released, watch it and then cancel again.

That's what I was looking to change to.. just have issues with Telstras reliability - and Foxtel's Content V Cost V Commercials is piss poor - specially with the amount of ads now V shows.  Nothing like a commercial for a show - and the commercial is for the show your trying to ****in watch!

Not sure how many channels we have on Foxtel now, most but not the movies, there'd be 6 channels I'd watch *maybe*.. used to watch car renovation shows, but they are all repeats or you see Part 1, then never see part 2!   Also love MotoGP, World Supers, AFL and not much else excites me

Like many people - I'd be happy to stay if I could pick the 5-10 channels I like for $10-15/mth - I reckon lots more would sign up.

I keep hearing people saying this, but when I ring to cancel, the Shits cancelled/off before I've hung up

Apple TV and Netflix, mostly. Some catch up TV stuff via the Apple TV, too, as we never watch TV when its aired. Occasionally I'll buy a TV series through iTunes if I'm desperate to see it and know there'll be a long wait for it to go onto Netflix (or never will). Rare that I'd pay money for a movie...

We only have the cheapest Netflix plan, and honestly? Its fine. We'd never want to watch two different things at the same time, so limited to one device isn't an issue. And the SD quality is absolutely fine unless you have an enormous TV.

After downloading Netflix and Kayo a few weeks ago, my wife rang Foxtel to cancel. We pay $65 basically for sport and so she can watch a few reality tv shows.

She spent at least half an hour on the phone trying to do it going from person to person who tried to convince her to stay.

She then received another call on Saturday offering the same package for $29 and an upgraded box. As she said to the bloke, where were these offers before and if Foxtel can afford to offer people cheaper channels why aren’t they. Needless to say she politely declined after another extended period of the bloke telling her why she needs to keep it.

I have a Fetch box I got from my ISP (iiNet) years ago. $6 a month gets me Discovery Channel, National Geographic, BBC knowledge, Travel Channel and a heap of news-ish channels - and as a bonus all recordable to the Fetch box. Go to Hell Foxtel!
We've swapped from the camper to a van yay! :)
