Title: Cheapy Pool = Pump
Post by: Bird on February 22, 2019, 11:23:12 PM: So the daughter bought one of those cheapy ~15ft round pools... the pump is not strong enough to pump air.
anyone got any suggestions on something a bit better.

Post by: duncan on February 23, 2019, 06:54:07 AM: Not sure if this will work or help but try lifting the pump up a bit so the base of the pump is as high as the inlets to the pool.

yea usually take that off and fill with water...

it just pumps barely a trickle - I've had it sitting on a keg, about height of the in/outlets :(

The impeller won't push air, so you do have to bleed the air out of the hoses and top of the filter housing. To ensure it doesn't suck air in its best to have it on the ground, rather than sitting up high and open the valve in the lid until all the air vents out. When you bleed it, turn the power off so the turbulence in the filter doesn't draw air in as well.

Make sure there isn't some crap in the housing interfering with the impeller too.

I can cry more fluid than this can pump sadly. Theres no air in the system, or lines... but it pumps back into pool just a trickle.
