Another Camel Tow
« on: August 30, 2012, 09:06:39 AM »
Hi Swagger's. The "Hugs & Kisses" and myself have just gotten back from towing the Beachcomber up to Carnarvon Gorge for an extended long weekend (9 Nights). Awesome trip and awesome part of the country. Met plenty of likeminded characters sitting around the campfire but was lucky enough to run into a swagger member who referred me to this forum. It's porn for campers!!!!
I was also wondering if there are any camel owners out there who have done any DIY boatrack mods. Keep up the good works guys

Welcome to the Forum !

i also have a Beachcomber, GREAT CT i recon.  :)

i have also been looking at options for a boat rack, and i think i am going to go with the option provided by the CAMEL factory here in Brissy.

have you had a look at what they offer ?  give them a call and have a talk to Mike. He has always helped me out in the past.

Cheers

Cheers all,

MM,
I have dealt with Mike before when researching ct's prior to purchasing - hense why we bought a camel. I was looking at just getting the mounts done by camel but it looks a pretty simple task. Just wanting to throw a couple of hobies on top so not intending to carry much weight (100kg max). Let us know what you end up going with!
BJ,
thanks for the links. pleanty of food for thought. It's giving me a huge appetite. I only hope I don't bite off more than I can chew

Congrats on the 9 night weekend!  Oh and the camper.  Welcome to the Best Forum anywhere.  Always good to see another Camel Tow getting about ... there's an actual herd starting in here!

Hi Black Rat,
welcome to the forum.

I was up at Canarvon Gorge last year and it truly is a lovely part of the country to spend a 'long weekend'.
