In no way excusing the cheating, but am I the only one who thinks the chances of randomly filming all the relevant players at the right time pretty long and therefore make the uncovering seem not so random?

That's a scam. They use 4 piece balls in test cricket.  Might be OK for Grade Cricket though.

Smith and Warner haven't gone anywhere. They've been stood down from their leadership positions, nothing more (atm).....still playing.....

Camera crew picked it up, kept filming and it was reported, they just followed the crumbs from then on.

If they don’t cancel the next game, I think they might have to bring Finch and perhaps Burns over to replace Smith and Warner permanently.  Perhaps also Maxwell or Renshaw to replace Bancroft temporarily. Probably Ponting or Langer to replace Boofhead permanently. And, who else knew?  Lyon? Need a replacement for him too.

I think the person directing the Cameras is going to get a big bonus for their effort.  Maybe the camera-person too.

You would have thought he would have used something that didnt stand out like the proverbial Dogs balls [ big hunk of bright yellow tape ]   .. Surely he would have  had access to some clear packaging tape ..  May aswell took a big squeeze bottle of contact glue out there and smeared it all over the ball ..
Sack all involved and let them pay their own fares home .

What a diagusting bunch of spoilt, entitled cheats.  If this is what the Gentlemans game has come to its lost me.

These scumbags should be banned for life to send a message that Cricket will never stand for cheating.

Just looking at the overseas news shows what damage they have done to both Cricket and Australia.

if both the head coach (lehmann) and bowling coach (saker) didn't know, i'll eat a piece of sandpaper...

curious to know how many of the team, outside of the 'leadership group' knew as well...

if they knew, but just went along, their integrity is in question also, IMO...

was bound to happen now that sportsbet, crownbet, tabcorp, ladbroke, youbet, etc, etc all have a vested interest in the outcome of the game.

The game (like almost all sports now) is no longer about winning a tin cup..................it's all about the $$$$$$$$$, and there are a lot of vested interests all with their hand in the cookie jar.

that's not cheating at all...  that's the benefit of having the test match at your home ground...

if you want to be the best, then you have to be the best at home and away from home, in different conditions (humidity, wind, etc)...

no different to players having different bats, or different countries using different cricket balls...

Feel a bit sorry for Tim Paine. Having to front the media after getting spanked and having to apologise for something instigated by others. As if his cricket career hasn't had enough setbacks.

Wonder what Smith might say about Maxwell's professionalism now....

Camera's catching the on field antics doesn't surprise me but filming the coach at just the right time makes it a little bit harder to believe but still not that unusual, the 12th man having a chat on the radio whilst sitting on the sideline is the one that seems most unusual to me, I don't remember ever seeing footage of the 12th man sitting on the sideline before, not all impossible, but also not likely that they just coincidentally have camera's pointing in the right places at the right time.

It seems arrogant that they all discussed the plan and thought they would get away with it?
How would Bancroft have gone if he had chosen two fingers on his non dominant hand and wrapped them together but use the tape with the sticky side out?  Probably wouldn't stand out as much, still cheating though.
