Title: How to tell the age of a Waeco?
Post by: listo on September 30, 2018, 05:02:20 PM
Does anyone know where to find the manufacture date on these?
We got a cfx65 with our camper that we don’t want, if the stories add up, it should only be a year or 2 old, it’s condition looks that way too. It’d be nice to be able to prove it to myself so I know i’m not lying to anyone that may want to buy it.

F it came with the camper, why not keep it? Guarantee the day you sell it, the following day would be shopping for one.

It also came with a 60l evakool that fits in the walkthrough & we already have an Engel. It’s only going to sit in the shed collecting dust, so i may as well pass it on to someone who will use it

I think the cfx range came out 2 years ago, no more than 3 years, but I could be wrong. Was around then I got mine and they were a new release.

Been around a bit longer than that.  I got mine when I had the Ranger, which I got rid of in 2013

Well I was going to say 3-4 years ago, however a quick google shows the CFX range started to be introduced in late 2012. I believe the 50 was first cab off the ranks, the 65 came a bit later on. Personally (and I know you don't want or care to hear it) I reckon the CFX craps all over the engel. I have both to be able to compare.

It’s all good mate, everyone has their preferences. I actually don’t mind the Evakool, for it’s set out, but I love Engels. It’s like being a Toyota man, I’m stubborn on them  ;D

If you can find the serial number, go to dometic.com.au and send them a message asking for the year of manufacture.

A quick google found a post with a date of Nov 22 2012. Didn't think it was that long ago. How time flies.

Yeah, that surprised me too. I've heard some "stories" that some of the early ones had some compressor issues. Touch wood, I've had mine since 2015 and its been faultless.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but which site did you use? I'm having no luck finding the age of mine..
I've sent an email to Dometic, waiting for a response..

There was not a definate date of manufacture, just posts with dates regarding Waeco fridges.

I don't have a camper trailer anymore as such, now it's a Jayco Swan Outback.. so not sure I'm allowed on here
