Very sad day...
was always a big fan of Deano, both in the way he played and the way he spoke his mind.
must have been very hard for Brett Lee, who had to perform CPR to help try and save him... that will live with him for the rest of his life.

1985 I was organising a Sportsman night for Brian Stooke and Peter Steele who got shot by Pavil Marinov [Mad Max].
Deano heard about it and rang me and offered his srvices for free.
After speaking very frankly after being dumped from the test team, he answered questions for hours and dontated
shirts, gloves and bats to the auction.
Great bloke.
