NZ have not had any of their matches in Australia, so I wonder if only playing on postage stamps will be a hindrance?  Could be a few catches in the deep?  Just hope both teams play to their potential but I really want the Aussies to win.   One main reason is that I have been told and told and told by a kiwi relative how good the kiwis are and they will smash the Aussies and they (kiwis) have a secret weapon blah blah blah?  You guys can be a bit touchy about sports.   ;D ;D ;D   Kevin

i agree.  i would be happy if NZ won it too...  not real fussy either way, as long as today's game and the final are good games...

;D, no bites from our Kiwi friends, guess they are a little worried. I have a kiwi workmate who has been dishing it out all week, so a solid oz win is on the cards, besides that they will be scared playing in the big smoke at the MCG,

Looks like the Kiwi's are worried about the pitch size...

I might sit on the fence for this game.  I was born in NZ to an Australian Mother and New Zealand Father, but have lived in Australia for 90% of my life.
I've loved watching NZ play this world cup and would be great for them to win, but I could never barrack against Australia.
Unless it's All Blacks V Wallabies... >:D

Wattos fine form has continued in the West Indies.
Another stoic 11.
At this rate he could end up number 11 bat

Without Voges 130 on debut, we'd be lacking a good score too

amazing how teams can get australia to be 6, 7, 8 wickets down for not much, then they take their foot off our throats...

happens all the time...

good on voges, though... he deserved to be in the team long before this...

Its all about perspective.....

Unfortunately, 11 in that innings was a reasonable score,,, it was only:
7 runs short of Clarkes score
8 runs short of Marshes score
14 runs short of Smiths score
but he did score more than Haddin and Warner....
Without Voges and Extras, he scored 6.4% of our runs, which is a little bit of an under performance.

If in a test match last summer, he could score within 14 runs of Smith, and score more than Warner, you would think he was a god....

I do agree with most people, and believe that he is over-rated, but I think he is useful in the team as a batting / bowling option, and he is reasonable in the field too.

Easy win to the Aussies.
I see the skipper even rolled his arm over for a couple. Might be looking to fill the all rounder spot after the ashes ????

Probably a chance since we haven't had a decent all rounder since James Faulkner played his only test....

Aussies 4 / 258 after Day 1 in the 2nd Test.

Smith unbeaten on 135 looks to still be in good form.

Yeah but poor start - 6 maiden overs from Taylor with two wickets. 41 balls to score a run...  Warner out for a duck on his 3rd ball, Marsh gone on 11. Its only Smith that's keeping it respectable.

Windies in a spot of bother at 8/143 chasing 399. Nice innings by Smith 199, pity he didn't get to 200.

Was a rather sporting declaration by Clarke with 2 days to play. Though given the state of carribean cricket we should be able to beat them inside 4 days

Surrey Cricket Club later on Monday reported that Henriques had broken his jaw in three places in the clash, while Burns had head and facial injuries. Cricket NSW says Henriques will have surgery and will remain in the United Kingdom until he is cleared by specialists to play.
