From memory if the factory was to go under most of Gloucester would no longer exist

14 mtrs??!!!

Quote
Colo River passes 14m hours earlier than predicted
By Sarah McPhee

Major flooding is occurring on the Colo River at Upper Colo and Putty Road Bridge, the NSW SES says.

The Bureau of Meteorology had earlier warned the river, which flows into the Hawkesbury River, “may reach around 14 metres” by tonight.

The latest bureau reading at 12.45pm indicated a height of 14.8 metres on the Colo River at Upper Colo with major flooding

Hi Fizzie,
I hope all Swaggers are safe, take care.

Sorry for the long reply below.
We are home safe, if need be we can get to Grafton from Lawrence(lawrence Rd cut in a few places) out through Pringles Way/SummerLand H/way, an extra 50 odd kms.
We've been throught a few floods now hete in Lawrence, we have plenty of time to organise stuff before the Ferry goes off and the roads get cut.
A great indicator is a local farmer, he has cattle next to the Lawrence Genral Store, Monday after noon as I had to drive through Grafton to get back from Maclean, the cattle where there that morning, but he had moved them later that day. Yesterday morning the water had covered that paddock.
The ferry will be out for 5-7 days, if no more rain falls.
Both Daughters live in Yamba, and the road to Maclean is cut atm, high tides ate effecting this atm, so they are unable to get to work.
Looks like we as a club wont be camping at Easter, Heffer Station is cut off atm.
The below pics are not mine. This is only a small flood atm, anymore rain in the catchment and things will change.
They are of the Lawrence side at the ferry looking towards Woodford Island. I have hear the river bank & part of the river bank has been washed away about 2km towards Maclean.
Btw, thanks for asking mate.
Take care Swaggers.

What about going through Maroon?

Thanks (a week later! ;D) but the road was also cut between Beauie & Boonah, so wouldn't have been able to go that way either.

As it was, just after posting that last message, we found out that the bridge had actually been open, with normal traffic going over it, since 3pm the previous arvo, despite the latest Main Roads update at 5.30 that morning saying it was still closed ??? ::)

There mapping & advisories must be done by the same people who were doing all the fire maps last year! ::)

So we got out there, a day late, but then enjoyed a very pleasant 6 day stay ;D

Yeah, could be interesting ???

On the GC, both Little Nerang & Hinze Dams are currently over their spillways, & they're guessing 100 - 185mm of rain over Monday - Wednesday :o

Would be nice if it could all be moved a couple of 00 k West where they really need it :'(

Never thought I’d see the day when “cyclone” would figure in the forecast for Eneabba.

Old colleague and I had a standing joke. If you stopped there in summer it would be 40 plus, in winter it would be 10 with a biting south easterly.

Hopefully this system just delivers  some good rain for the grain growers.

How many "twice a year storms" do we have to have. We've been smashed with rain and wind for a few weeks now. We made the wettest July in 20 years a week ago. 245Ml's so far this month and climbing as the front now passes through.
