We had new neighbours move in next door a few weeks ago.

They've got nice toys - new his & her Prados & also a new Iconn CT.

They came over t'other day & asked if we had a funnel that they could borrow to pour into the CT water tank.

As I said, it's brand new, so to get rid if the new, plastic, taste, they were putting raspberry cordial into the tank :-\

That's a new one on me - anybody ever heard of it ???

Anyone elses Google asking for DOB and verification by photo ID or CCard etc??   I instantly thought fraud - but google's own help page and 230498203489032489 hits on search engines....

Verify you’re old enough to manage your account
You’ll need to upload an electronic copy of a valid, government-issued ID that shows your date of birth. Most requests are reviewed within 24 hours. If you provide a copy of your government ID, we’ll delete the copy after we validate your date of birth.

If you do meet the minimum age requirements, you can verify your age with a government-issued ID that shows you meet the requirement. You may also have the option to verify your age with a credit card.

If you use a credit card, any temporary authorization will be fully refunded. If you use an ID, Google will delete the image after verifying your age.
Important: After you sign in to your Google Account you’ll get instructions on how to directly upload a valid ID or enter credit card information. Google will never ask you to provide this type of information in an email.

So long ago that I can’t remember what I did to bypass it.

« Reply #1336 on: April 29, 2021, 09:21:54 PM »
I honestly can’t remember exactly when I got that message, but it had to be a few years ago.
I remember the text was pretty much exactly as you described, but I can’t recall what I did to clear it.
Pretty sure I didn’t give a credit card number, but even if I did, that card would be long gone by now.

Edit;
I know I got that message around the time that a**hole Tony passed those laws that made my prolific downloading of movies illegal.
So I was super suspicious about giving away any details about me. I would have found some way around it, but stuffed if I can remember now.

Anyone using Google Photos to store photos??

https://www.cnet.com/news/google-photos-is-ending-unlimited-free-storage-heres-what-you-need-to-know/

Google Photos is ending its unlimited free storage policy for photos and videos, Google said Wednesday in a blog post. After June 1, 2021, any new photos and videos you upload will count toward the free 15GB of storage that comes with every Google account. But don't worry: Any photos or videos you've uploaded before that day won't be part of the cap.

The move is meant to encourage people to sign up for Google's storage subscription service, Google One. Google One plans start at $2 a month in the US for 100GB of storage and other features, like Google Store discounts.

Hi,
I used to host my forum trip report photos on Google, but they shut the option off and I had to move to Imgur.
Google was simple, just right click and copy the image address. Imgur was clumsy and somewhat inconsistent in the way the images were uploaded and linked to.
I wonder whether the paid Google will work as well as the original version did?
Cheers

You can easily do 160 kph through there, Fizzie! Although, if you have 'Sunny' with you, perhaps no more than 140, hey!

During the day it’s all flowing pretty good now.

They’ve hooked up the traffic sensors in the road, so the lights are not just running on timers anymore. That’s what caused most of the problems before.

They were in full swing working on it when I came back from Brissy about 10pm last night and the line up was about 3km long on the northbound highway.
I joined the queue about 500mm before the speed camera. And took about 15-20 minutes to get to Caloundra Rd. :(
