Title: Camping toilet - chemical question
Post by: matthecat on March 28, 2023, 04:10:02 PM
Hopefully not a taboo subject (a search of the archives revealed robust discussions in the past).http://www.myswag.org/Smileys/classic/grin.gif
Happy to dig a hole and position the throne over the top but am heading to some areas where I reckon I'll be struggling to hammer in tent pegs never mind getting a hole dug.
On the odd occasion when needing to set up a bucket loo with a biodegradable liner what does everyone use to solidify the contents so they can be taken away and disposed of off-site?

I had seen somewhere a powder chemical that could be used when removing a toilet.
Eg, replacing an old, stained pan.
Tear the packet, tip it in, it would make the liquid solid.
So when removing the old pan there wasn't any liquid spilling.
It would think the chemicals used would able to be dumped at a Dump Station.
Members here who are plumbers maybe able to help.
Cheers.

You don't use magic to disappear, ya use a 4x4 & Swag.

Thanks Hairs.
I have seen the sachets which would be the easiest solution but they only seem to be available from America (via Amazon).
Hopefully someone has a local supplier (or alternative) that I can use.
