Diesel heater monitor
« on: August 12, 2022, 06:52:24 PM »
I have the coloured monitor, sometimes it’s hard to see, yes I could turn the screen up, but it also seems to draw power when the heater is off, not much though.

I m looking at replacing the monitor with something simple, what options do others use….

In my daughter's & hubby's van, we installed a simple on/off switch to isolate power to the monitor. (mounted inside a cupboard next to the monitor so the little ones do not accidentally hit the switch - not good to do while the heater is running) (1) When turned off, they do not need to worry about any however small power draw from the monitor and (2) at bedtime, they do not run the heater and by turning off power to the monitor, they have no coloured "glow" inside the van from the lights.

Move it out of sight and use the remote if you have one, they are cheap on ebay.
