Finally getting around to gluing carpet to the side wings of my Drifta drawers. When posted, you have to cut them to size and glue the carpet on.
Anyone got any tips on how to glue around the edge of the timber?
I am using the glue they use for artificial turf. Have it on good authority that this stuff is really good.
I have glued the main top area down ok, but am wondering if I need to cut the edges into strips to get it over the edge of the timber neatly and on to the underside.
Any tips appreciated.

I used a combo of pins/thumbtacks and tacks when I carpeted my storage unit.,

also, how did you go gluing around the corners? any tips, so i don't end up with a spot with the potential for the carpet to come away (ie: carpet coming from two angles to the corner)?

The carpet is quite stiff when you bend around corners. Get a heat gun warm up carpet and bend around corner. be careful with heat. I have done a few like this and it works well. If you have cut the top and have overhang for the sides do as I said and add cut on the edge bend when you fold over top to side let the cut pieces cover each other then run stanley over cut again and you have perfect joint
the carpet provided by Drifta is not marine carpet, it's more of an automotive carpet... thinner and more malleable...
at the moment, i have just glued the top, with overhand ready for bending over the edges and gluing to the underside...
not sure i follow your method... hard without pics... probably just me... ???

Fold it over and then over to the underside as well, this will help hold it. The underside is where your staples go.

any particular type would be ok? manual ones?

Didn't use any staples, and none of the carpet on my drawers or wings has lifted. Probably have 2 inches of material on the underside

i was going to use long bits of ply, with clamps...
mate has a staple gun... will probably use that...

A parsley wheel is good for working the adhesive up into multiple layers of the cloth where it folds or overlaps for corners.
