I am looking for a ONE Legged POM, in WA I think.
« on: December 17, 2023, 11:38:36 AM »
Hi Swaggers particularly those in southern WA. On a recent trip I met a One Legged POM Andrew and his wife Karen, both lovely people in the Wilcannis caravan park , the one just over the bridge. He gave me some information which was quite informative, I got his email address and now after 6 or so weeks I tried to email him, the email address failed.
I would dearly like to catch up with him and I am hoping one of you Swaggers would pass on my wish to him. Now lets face it a one legged person in a hybrid camper with a wife and a small white dog would be hard to miss.
If anyone sees then please get a contact number or correct email address and PM me.

Thanks in advance. Russell

The Park should be able to help you ???

They wouldn't be able to give you his details, but they may be able to send him a message with yours, asking him to contact you ???

Thanks for the reply Fizzy but when I saw him they were in Wilcannia headed for southern WA. and that was 6 plus weeks ago so I am assuming they would now be in WA.

Sure, but the Park would have probably got their contact details when they stayed there (I know that when we go anywhere in SEQ, we always have to fill out a form with e-mail, phone & so on) & may still have them on file ???, & may be willing to contact the bloke & ask him to contact you ???

Not at Wilcannia, all they want is the money, cash preferably.

I personally like it now but back in the mid to late 80's I was there and yes it was different. Things certainly have changed, the local coffee shop is run by aboriginals and they do excellent coffee and food. love it or hate it is is a big part of the history of the Darling along with Bourke Loth etc. The local buildings tell of an era that was very rich for the wool that was sent to Melbourne via the river.
