Begining  to wonder if some people might be struggling and decide to drown part of their financial pain...
I  highly suspect  two that I know of that went under on Moreton and Rainbow some years back, were drowned for the insurance .

We drove through there last Saturday and could not believe how much sand was over the rocks.  The drive was like being on a highway.  In fact there was even a wedding happening there???   Kevin

Insurance typically covers this - and typically covers people driving through deep creek crossings too.
So we all pay, via our premiums, so that these nongs aren't badly out of pocket.

If you are legally allowed to drive there, then generally you are fully covered. I don't understand the angst on here about it.
There are cheapy insurance companies that you can choose, that exclude such things - problem is we all want to be covered off road, yet some don't think that others are allowed to claim for it if they have somehow contributed to the claim.
I would suggest that the minute you take your vehicle off the black top, you are exposing the vehicle to a Risk of damage, and have elevated your risk of claim higher than the daily driver who never goes off road.  I am one of those who had a fairly major accident off road, which ended up a $14k repair job under insurance. I would claim it wasn't my fault, just something that happened.
Some would say I was a d---h--- by the sounds of it.
