Another new family
« on: April 30, 2013, 09:23:52 PM »
Hi everyone,

I've been lurking for a while, gleaming info as I go.  MySwag has been incredibly useful.

My wife and I have 2 little girls, 7 & 5, who had been loving tent camping over the past 4 years, but the setup and tear down had become unbearable.  After talking with many friends in Wye River, we decided start looking for a used CT.  Because we weren't sure how the little ones would adapt to longer times on the road, we decided we wanted to keep the budget under $6k.  The wife was happy to by a new import, while I wanted to find something better quality.

The end of January, we found a used X-Trail only 40km away.  And in mint condition.

We've already had two long weekends away and we're all in love.  I've even gotten all the females away from caravan parks and toilet blocks.  Progress has begun.

So far the trailer has been great.  The only problem has been fitting and organizing all the stuff.  But we'll get there.  With all of your help.

Thanks in advance.

-Drew

Welcome Drew

It doesn't seem to matter how you go camping tent, ct etc we all have to play tetris when trying to fit everything in.

Congratulations on your new CT purchase Drew.  It would be good if you could post up some pics.

Welcome to the tribe Drew and family.  It took us a few trips to sort out our stuff.  When you get home each time, chuck the stuff you didn't use and add the stuff you needed, but forgot.  Look forward to reading of your adventures.

Happy camping
