Yeah, they are not cheap! One of my mates has had two sets in 18mths, due to the rims cooking themselves. :o Luckily, warranty covered them.  ;)

Ceramic or steel bearings?

I'm led to believe that they are a nice set of wheels.  😎

Flanders Blade 3.0 CX. Love this bike! Mainly used for a daily commute and social rides. I need to get rid of my middle-aged-spread haha
Full carbon frame, SRAM Force/Rival components, hydraulic disk brakes, S-Works Power Saddle, 11/36 rear cassette, single 48T ring up front. For an XL frame it comes in at a smidgen over 9kg :)

Hahaha I wondered if anyone would pick it up! It was in the wax bath being rewaxed. Had just finished detailing it.

a 1 x roady would be great for my dyslexic mate. Less to worry about. He is forever tricking himself up.

Makes servicing so much simpler, one less derailleur to worry about!

Steel pretty sure. I went with Bora One wheels - I could not justify the extra $1,000 for carbon hubs + CULT bearings.

They're Bora One 50mm carbon wheels. That has the alloy hubs with USB bearings, pretty sure that means steel bearing. USB = Ultra Smooth Bearings. A bit odd as my older Shamal (alloy) wheels have the carbon hub with CULT bearings. CULT = Ceramic Ultimate Level Technology.

Picked up a Fly 12 and a set of compact cranks for my bikes this week. Compacts going on my old bike, so that I can do some hill work over the winter months and the Fly will be used on both road and track bikes. ;D

They are cool old bikes. He would have to be a friends of Steve’s. Steve is the president of an old school bike club and has swap meets at his warehouse in Oxley each month. It’s crazy what these old bikes are worth now

Raced in the first ever Fat Bike National Championships yesterday at Cable Beach in Broome. Hard work for an unfit rider like me.

You need to look up the Iditarod mtb race in Alaska.

http://www.iditarodtrailinvitational.com/

One of the guys off another 4wd forum has done it a couple of times. Well outside my skill set, they have to pass survival courses and all sorts before they are allowed to enter.

that other 4wd forum guy would be Troy. Owner of Area 54 Adventure Outfitters. He's now been over there four times. twice now he's done the 1,000 mile option in the race...

This year, he's considering something warmer and closer to home...

I’ve read troy’s musings for years. He writes well and doesnt pad it out. He popped up the other day on the bicycle advice fb page. Some bloke asking about cold weather gloves for -7 degrees. They were putting crap on him about the temp being too cold. Troy jumped in with ‘ some of us ride in -44’. Shut them up pretty quick. His muru/lefty is a bike I’d like to invent a need to have.

I've been looking for a simple garage bike holder to hold my bike whilst I check tyre pressures etc without having to lean the bike against something or drag out the bike stand.

I found the 'Clug' and have one on order. I'll fix it low down on the work bench.
