Why would the media expect Haddin's inclusion in the third test to be a given? I would have thought he will not get another game unless we wrap up the series early, same for Watto.

I hate the use of the term "Overlooked" when it is surely certain that the inclusion of Haddin in the lineup would have been discussed by the selectors.  Not being selected is entirely different to being overlooked IMO!

The Girls are doing a fine job over here in the Ashes also. Just thought I'd given them some mention.

Sadly for me, the Cricket types have all gone home, no one left here to make fun off....  >:(

Punter thought Haddin should be in...
http://www.cricket.com.au/news/ricky-ponting-disappointed-brad-haddin-dropped-edgbaston-third-ashes-test-2015-healy-clarke/2015-07-29

he and matthew hayden obviously have ignored haddin's last 12 tests or so... keeping and batting have been subpar...

a tough decision, but the right one... IMO...

Yep....and bowl.....

grassy wicket and overcast conditions...

automatic bat first?  can't fathom that thinking...

and in the first two tests, that would make sense, given the wicket and conditions....

but with this wicket being harder under foot (more bounce) and having more grass (ball movement off the pitch and in the air), along with overcast skies forecast for much of the first day and cooler temps being forecast (very conducive to swing bowling), why not bowl first?

especially since the aussies have a glaring weakness against a ball that's moving around... which was shown up in the worst way in their first innings...

but, it makes for an interesting test match if the aussie bowlers get their finger out...  :D

Yep, you could see it from the first ball of the day....
