Spent some time installing my dual battery system and 16mm2 back to the towbar. Whilst investigating options for getting cable up into the back of the tug I found the cause of an intermittent problem I have had with my rear wiper and one of the barn door speakers. The cable plug & sockets must have been sitting in water in the back 1/4 panel and the wires had corroded off the terminals. Replaced both plugs & sockets and now have the wiper working again. Did a bit more waterproofing of the wiring better than Mr Nissan San did.

I spent most of the weekend fitting an intercooler and bonnet scoop to my Prado - my UK model didn't come with an intercooler like they did in most of the world, including Australia. I also fitted a thermo switched fan on top of the intercooler, to help force air through the intercooler. I still have a bit of tidying up to do with the fan wiring (all the loose wires in the pic), make a permanent fan shroud (to replace the silver tape) and the scoop needs painting. I think I might just get the whole bonnet re-painted while I'm at it. Overall I am very happy with the improvement - my egt's are down between 50-100C, and the power increase is most pleasing. Economy seems to have improved too, but I'll wait until I've done a couple of tanks before I'm sure. I wonder why they never fitted these to the UK models..?

started to pull the canopy that some very special people got for my other half apart.
It wasn't perfect when they got it for us (read wrong colour, and needs a good clean and a few bits and bobs)
BUT it was a PERFECT fit, dam cheap and structurally fantastic. No cracks in the fibreglass, and really just needs a good clean, quick scuff and some paint.

Found some cans of paint I mixed up at work awhile ago in the navaras silver, so picked up some clear coat and some pads to clean it up.  ;D

It should be great when its done. I'll get some photos up tomorrow.

Finished it up today (well as much as possible)
Got it cleaned and painted. Then clear coated it. I put 6 coats of clear on it, so it should hold up well enough for awhile.  ;D
I also got the windows resealed, the roof vents resealed and also fully carpeted it inside. The other things I did were to replace all the wiring in it. I had to pull apart the centre stop light to fix a buggered solder join (or 6) then I also got a replacement led light for inside. No idea how bright it is, but with 30 odd led's in it I would suggest brighter than a little festoon globe.

Thanks again to some very special people who got it for us, It looks great now. I will get some photos tomorrow when there is some light lol

Picked up some ply for the drawer mods, got a great price as they only charged me for 1 piece of 2400x1200x12mm!
Grabbed some hinges for the fridge slide too. Off this weekend so the kids can ride their quads and the big people can keep warm round a raging fire!!
Hope to mod the drawers next week

After bending the rim on my jockey wheel while turning with too much weight on the drawbar, I finally got round to straightening the rim, re-welding the center and then added a few spokes to strengthen it all up.

Hows that jockey wheel supposed to hold the trailer in place now.
There's no flat spot to stop the wheel rotating.
And I s'pose you've given the wheel hub a good grease so it rotates easily as well.
And you've covered it with silver paint!
Sorta matches the Galvanizing.  Give you points for the paint, ok.

Well done.

Haha,
I love having the pneumatic wheel back on now. I tried a solid one interim and they just don't move as well.  I had to grease up the hub because after welding the center, all the grease ran out.
