Wentworth & Mildura
« on: November 24, 2010, 12:57:06 PM »
We are looking at going to Wentworth or Mildura for the Easter break.

Just wondering if anyone had any best things to do or places to visit?

Also we were looking at staying in a caravan park for 5 nights or a campground with showers (2 teenage daughters), can anyone suggest one?

We were liking the look of the Willowbend CP in Wentworth, riverfront sites  and far enough out of Mildura to be nice and quiet.  Also loved the fact it is situated on the junction of the Darling & Murray rivers too.  Has anyone stayed here?

Any comments good or bad would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks  ;D

We stayed in Murray Sunset NP, there are a couple of camping grounds there that have showers and toilets, Vic Parks have info on it.

We stayed at Willow Bend CP back in April. think it's the only park at Wenthworth  Huge sites plenty of ,amenities were clean and tidy with piped music, by no means a flash park but OK the manager  was pretty laid back but very helpful. Be sure to vist the Parry Sand Hill While there.

Thanks Baz for the quick reply.

Our girls are getting a little fussy these days.  They are OK going bush for a couple of nights but for a week they get a bit titchy without a hot shower.

Will have a look at both.  Will have to book something soon as they are booking out quickly already.  :'(  We were looking at going as far as Renmark but thought we could day trip there and to Mildura if we were in Wentworth, just a thought but hubby REALLY wants to stay at Wentworth and we are still tossing up whether to take the boat or not, as that means taking two cars but looks like it would be worth it.

Thanks Bushman.  Flash we dont need just showers for the two girls  :-*.  Had the sand hills on the list of must see's after reading about them in a camping mag.

Thanks D4D will do.

WOW D4D I love those views from your campsite.

Where did you stay in Gol Gol?

I called the Willowbend and they have some powered sites left but they are not riverfront.  :'(

http://www.rgtp.com.au/ ask for site 4

The only slight issue is its near the highway and can be noisy from the trucks at night. Most of the Mildura parks are on the truck route also.

Buggar that was the one I rang this morning and they are fully booked!!!!

Never mind will keep on looking and will probably book the Willowbend as she had a site one back from the water but it didnt have a site in front of it so it was a sort of water view.  Better than being up the back of the park...

Try the Family park in Buronga across the bridge, also try Apex Park and the River road Park. These are off the main truck route but all on the river. If you need further info we live in Mildura, but book now or you will miss out!
