It's ok, some say I can charm a snake, or I am a snake, or snakes fear me, or something.

Just had to replace 8 hardwood step treads at someone's house today, cut the old ones up to remove them and loaded them into the back of the Cruiser for firewood....that should be enough to get me through next winter  8) ;D ;D

Nearly have next winter's shed stack full. Couple more to split and these two sheds will be full and dry out nicely over summer.

That's a hard one mate, I have three and another up the farm. Depends on what size is you firebox, what size timber you are going to cut as well. I like to run Stihl and others will run Husky or the other brands. A larger motor is what I run with a smaller bar which keeps cutting power at its best. Bar size will determine what size logs or trunks you want to cut. I would go for the middle of the range saw which I use most

They are really clamping down this year, have seen a few rangers in the state forests.
And no more warnings, they are seizing cars, trailers and chainsaws.

From the Bendigo Addy.

SIX people will have to face court for illegally cutting and removing wood from parks and reserves near Bendigo.

A further five people have also been issued infringement notices during the current firewood collection season, while trailers, chainsaws and vehicles have been seized.

A number of River Red Gum trees have also been illegally cut down for firewood.

Parks Victoria ranger team leader Mathew Sobey said it was “disturbing” to see mature native trees destroyed.

“These trees provide vital habitat for a range of native wildlife,” he said.

“We are fortunate to have the support of Victoria Police who assist our authorised officers when requested.

“As a result of recent operations, a number of people will be charged and potentially face court while others have received infringement notices.”

Parks Victoria relied on tip-offs from the public to catch offenders. Officers also regularly patrol public land.

Should be a lot around since the Weekend.
Toolangi has one of those controlled collection areas, you can't just pull up and start into a tree.
Scott may explain, or check out the Vic parks web page about it.
