companion aqua cube logic and digital
« on: November 05, 2013, 08:30:49 PM »
Hi all

I am after some info on the AQUA CUBE LOGIC and AQUA CUBE DIGITAL

1.How long does the rechargeable battery last on the logic.

2.Is it true that it takes 2hrs for 50% charge 4hrs 100% charge.

3.Do people that have this find that it is worth the extra money over the AQUA CUBE DIGITAL.

4.Also if people have the AQUA CUBE DIGITAL any feedback good or bad.

5.How long do the propane cartridges last

I am thinking of buying one of these just trying to work out if the AQUA CUBE LOGIC is worth it over the AQUA CUBE DIGITAL considering it is bigger in size and more money

any info appreciated.

thanks.

We just recently bought the aquacube digital as we felt it was just easier to plug the 12v power cord into the trailer than worry about charging the unit. I really like it and found it nice and easy to use. The safety features work well as if you switch the shower head off to save water it must heat up pretty quickly and cuts the flame out.

Can't advise on how long the propane canisters work but lasted us a couple of showers a day for 4 days

We have a Aquacube digital and used it on two camping trips now.  For a family of five we seemed to be able to get everyone showered the first night then the kids showered no problems the next night before needing to ensure it was charged again. Never really checked how long its charged as usually during the day i pop on charge so its ready by nightime. The temperature gauge is great as i can change the temperature to suit kids and us and know exactly what is best for the kids - have found the lowest setting (depending on the outside temperature) seems to be the best. So far our gas canister still has some gas in it (no idea how much) and thats after 8-10days use.

Only thing i have found is the on/off button on the shower head is hard to move - once it gets working no dramas but a pain when it its jammed but i have had similar happen on other showers.

Hi elle.mac
Is the aqua cube digital also rechargeable? I was under the impression that it was only the aqua cube logic.
thanks

Oops should of looked at which (been a long day) was which but correction we have the logic.

Price wise when we bought ours a couple months back it was only around $330 from anaconda so you can find them at a good price on sale if you are in no rush.

Hi Camshan,

A link to some information about both Aqua Cubes and Coleman http://blog.tentworld.com.au/2013/02/which-portable-hot-water-system.html. We chose to purchase the Logic as we know two instances where there was a fault with the Digital and they were replaced with the Logic by BCF.

We only received ours yesterday and will try it out next week. $449.00 at BCF, however we purchased ours here for $339.00 post free. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/400587878480?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

We have the Digital, first time using it on Fraser for a week, and not one problem, We use a gas bottle as we bought the hose, so can't help there, ( just get the hose to hook it to a gas bottle in case you run out on a little cylinder ) I have a 25lt flimsy bucket for the water pick up.

As for water consumption we have long showers ( easy when near a fresh water source ) we can have a shower out of about 15lt for the two of us a night.

Operation is simple plug it all in turn it on press start then turn the shower rose on and hot showers, very easy to use.

And a mate also has one has used it on several different trips and hasn't had a problem at all.

Hi Everyone

I went to K****roo Tent **** today on the NSW Central coast after finding out the Aqua Cube Logic was on special for $345.

That's great i'll get one i said. Then i went looking for the BOM to POL hose.

Looked everywhere for the hose. Eventually i found them on the Coleman cookers.

I asked the assistant if they had any more of these and his response was "Nope Sorry". I asked if i can buy one of the cooker hoses with a sorry we wont do that.

Short story is i said to the assistant thanks, you've lost a sale for your lack of help and courtesy.

Went up the road to B*F and there advertised there for $449. They don't have the hose in stock but the Coleman hoses fit the Companions.

They price matched the skippy shop for the Aqua Cube, i got the hose for $20 and im happy.

Cheers Glenn

Hi Burga

here's a pic of the Coleman hose with the Companion regulator.

There's no reason you couldnt use this low pressure regulator from Ebay using a standard 3/8 hose and POL fitting.

Hi Guys, I also purchased a aqua cube logic this week from tent world ipswich, $349 with the gas bottle hose and 2 disposable cylinders thrown in. Bcf would match the unit but no freebies.
Thumbs up for tentworld.

Not really sure about how much power it used. I think it would be pretty small as its only plugged in when you use it.

I've got one of the logics also and it works great, I also used the the Colman POL converter as it's cheaper and about 0.5m longer than the aquacube version.

The included shower head really is a good design, it seems to have enough grunt to wash soap off of this gorilla yet doesn't use much water.  My family of 4 seemed to get away with under 20l a day (turn the water off whilst soaping up).

From memory I bought the logic over the digital because it included the 240v power pack which gave me another option.

I screw the hose directly onto a 20l jerry can which saves me having to fill buckets etc, makes things pretty easy!  A good tip is to keep the jerry cool during the day, if it heats up too much the water coming out of the shower gets too hot for our liking.

The carry handle is also handy to loop a security cable around, I just crimped some eyes into some 3.2mm stainless cable and go through the handle and back to the camper.

Jason.

Ok dragging this back up because I thought I'd share a little story from today.

Bought the aquacube logic LI from BCF this morning for $499 ... I was stupid and probably should have done a bit more research. When I got home I was doing the research I should have done beforehand and found the exact same model on special at anaconda for $100 less ($399). Sheepishly I called up the BCF store and told them how I'd been stupid ... The guy laughed, said no problems at all we've all done it, and agreed to refund me the difference!

That is good customer service and BCF have just created a happy camper :)

Well done  :cup: When I bought my LI from Rays outdoors, they were still selling the old logic also. It was the only one on the shelf and no price tag, but they still had a price tag for the normal logic at $349.
When it was scanned at the counter it came up at $459. I said to the young bloke the price tag is only $349. He went and had a look, came back and changed the price to $349  ;D

So can I run the Aquacube on normal LPG from a cylinder? The cylinders you buy for it are propane I think?
