Hi all, is it to hot to do the Darking river run in the next two weeks then mite go on to The SA gulf, we were going to down to Wombeyan Caves but there are fires all in that area, it was 45 to 46 degrees when we were at Wagga last year so if it was like that and cooler would be fine Craig

Too hot is a personal opinion....but I reckon consistantly north of 40 along with hot nights is too hot.
The bigger issue is that I dont think there is much water in the Darling. Could be a very dry and dust trip even driving down the river bed.

Yes that is getting up there, will see thanks, Craig

Saw photos the other day of the Darling. Dry as a dead dingo,s donger in places. Really is a national shame whats happened to it. Used to love fishing it.

It would be hot, dry and dusty. And there would be about 10 millions flies
-
Thanks for the advise , mite rethink the trip, Craig

It would be very hot and dusty. But the locals would be glad to see someone out there, although I would check on places being open as a lot of places may be closed outside of the normal tourist season. I stayed at Bindara station in early september this year and it was great but had only a few small pools of stagnant water. They were low on drinking water for themselves and guests. I went through Menindee and water was hard to find and everybody seemed exhausted from what they had gone through so by now people will be pretty hard up and desperate for a change.
Cheers
Andrew

Thanks Andrew, I was only just driving though not stopping much on my way to SA Gulf area around Streaky Bay, We did the Black top run down through to Puka there last year, and did a few back roads looking at the silo art, Mite do another one of them trips, or just stay home as everything around my area is booked out, and we are running out of things to look at, its just a Shit of a time of the year to get 5 weeks holidays, I can no complain I am still having another 8 to 9 weeks off throw next year, Craig
