Wind up camper trailer
« on: April 14, 2015, 09:27:38 PM »
Hi Everyone

New here so apologies if it's been asked before.

Where has anybody towed their Jayco/Golf/Coromal etc wind up camper trailer?

To what degree of 'Off Road' have you driven with them.

What mods have you done?

We have a Golf Wild Track coming and want to do Fraser etc so any comments welcome (well nice ones)

Thanks

Welcome to Myswag !!

Had a quick look at the Golf website http://golfcaravans.com.au/range/golf-bush-challenger-upgrade-packs/

They look good...

Given the Gall Boys can tow their caravan over there - I'd say you'd be fine - depending on your tow car??

Vacation Camper & McTavish surfboard - what more does a guy need??

The golf wheelbase is wider than most cars and consequently does not tow well in soft sand. WE towed our Golf to the Weipa and the independent suspension assembly tore free from the body of the camper. The camper crashed onto the road and it was a write-off. We had been checking under the camper at every stop and did not see anything amiss, had low tyre pressures and were only doing about 60kph. Consequently I would not reccommend these campers for offroad touring!
