Maybe the NSW Labor Party will pick up the tab for that, too. Have these people no moral compass?

It will be amusing to hear how he explains himself.........if he does.....

I think it is funny that he is still proclaiming his innocence - so FWA and their 1100 page report showing 156 breaches are wrong are they Craig?

It will be interesting to see how this all pans out. Not looking good for him.

The HSU saga is getting worse and worse.

And who suffer from all this? The members.

Union official sacked for encouraging workers to speak out about the Union leadership.

Agreed. But.......if it wasn't so bad, it'd be funny.

eg.......Williamson trying to smuggle documents out of the HSU office while the police were there...........how dumb (or arrogant). A smart thief would have removed any incriminating evidence years ago.....maybe he thought he was "protected".

eg......Thomson saying someone else must have used his card, while his licence number and photo were part of the evidence....

He is only the start of the corruption throughout all political parties and unions. To think this is only Labor or HSU corrupt official then you would be pretty naive. All those senior politicians not taking action, you all know who they are just as corrupt. No integrity within any of them. Both political parties in this country are beyond bad......They lack vision and integrity.......That simple....

Use to be a member of HSU until a few years ago, could see how morally bankrupt they where becoming then, so gave myself a $25 dollar a fortnight pay rise..........

Nobody's addressed the original question, yet............

After years of investigation and media attention, the honorable Mr Thomson now claims that he was set up.
He'll need to provide some solid evidence and name names.

I hope he's got a better defense than that........

If he does get charged with fraud then there is proceeds of crime action to recover the money. They will (should) restrain his assets once he is charged so a smart fellow would get rid of everything now.

He doesnt meet the definition of a smart fellow though - in the dictionary he is next to HomerJ

I can't believe his attempt to explain it! Somehow his credit card, license and phone were all used by someone else in an attempt to set him up - and somehow he knew nothing about it?

I would love to see the rat locked up but it will never happen. I wonder where he will work after politics? Assumably the unions will be closed to him, and he would be no good at honest work. I suppose one of the "boys" will find him a cushy job somewhere out of the public eye
