winch rope for Warn XD9000
« on: December 14, 2011, 05:28:10 PM »
Gents,

Seems like there is no shortage of dyneema rope for winches on ebay, now how do i determine "fake" from real stuff. Good from bad?

I don't like immitations / copies and would like something to trust without paying retail.

What should i search for/avoid?

Thanks in advance.

David

I have tried both the cheaper end and the more expensive. I had some tigerz rope on the last winch and it did the job fine, when you look at it closely it is not as refined as the more expensive rope. It never let me down and I still have it as a a spare.

I have just upgraded the winch and at the same time purchased some winchline rope from the states, http://winchline.com/ It is really well made and I have not had to use it in anger yet but I am sure it will hold up well. Just keep it clean and you will have little trouble, http://myswag.org/forum/index.php?topic=11310.0.

It's not only the quality of the rope but the splicing. Winchline know what they're doing.
