I am looking at purchasing a camper trailer and have noticed these aluminium chequer plate camper trailers going for around $4,000. Just wondering what the catch might be for them to be so cheap. Is the quality of trailer any good and tent quality OK.
If anyone has any comments that would be appreciated.

Hi Brent

I am assuming you are talking about GIC campers.

It would appear to be a similar one but the ones they are selling on ebay are not as good. Do you know this company or type of trailer are they a good quality??
I am reluctant to buy things on ebay without looking, so hoping for some info from someone that might have one.
cheers

Hi
Unless you can physically see, feel and touch the exact trailer you are bidding on then I would steer clear. Particularly if you are having it freighted to your place - can hardly take it back.
The catch would probably be quality of materials. I imagine it will be a cheap chinese tent with a lot of thin aluminium on it. Steel prices have gone way up however ali seems to have come down or stayed down. A sheet of 1.6mm ali treadplate is only around $150 at the moment.
