Honey Moon Bay, Kalumburu
« on: February 16, 2018, 06:12:37 PM »
After negotiations with owners we have secured the beach front shack at HoneyMoon Bay.

There are 2 options camping on the beachfront at Kalumburu, HoneyMoon Bay and McGowans Island, but after looking at numerous YouTube videos we have decided to stay at Honey Moon Bay.

Members can stay at either or spend both time at both of just stay with us. We have 5 nights here.

The beach shack is rustic but has a shower and kitchen bench and patio. By booking the shack we have the area all around the shack and along the beachfront. The beach shack is $30 per night.

I have also got a better rate for everyone staying there.

Imagine sitting back, right on the beachfront with a cocktail in your hand watching the sun setting, fire going and listening to me talking Shite....Can it get any better than that.  ;D ;D

When are you guys expecting to be here?

We (my family of 5) are doing a solo trip and staying at McGowans and also the coast camp past Mitchell Falls. We might cross paths as only today we decided to postpone our departure date by 2 weeks due to the weather up there at the moment.

We were originally going to be leaving Brisbane Easter weekend - taking 2-3 weeks to get up there................

Cheers

It is a great spot to camp.
Just look out for the resident croc that cruises the beach on sunset. :D :D
We will go back there and spend a couple of weeks next time we are in the Kimberley.
The fishing from shore is very hit and miss, you really need a boat to get amongst it.
Take it easy on the Kalumburu road, it is the death of many 4WDs and trailers.

Cheers
