Tues 19th - Fri 22nd June.
Broome to Manari Rd.
We leave Broome for our expedition north. We head to:
Accommodation-(3 nights / 2 days)
Manari Road, WA
60km north of Broome
Notes- Secluded barramundi fishing holes and blissfully remote beaches sandwiched between shallow coral reefs and an uninhabited coastline of red sand cliffs make this one of the west’s best beach camping destinations.
The threat of Woodside’s gas processing plant development has long past, reserving this pristine stretch of Pindan woodlands for anglers, campers and beachcombers. To get there, head about an hour’s drive north of Broome to Willie Creek with its natural boat ramp, and Barred Creek further up the track: both ideal camps for barramundi-chasers.
For beach life, ocean views and the chance to spend long, lazy days swimming, snorkelling and spotting whales, continue along Manari Road to Quondong Point where a 3km-long stretch of campsites (some with shade), tops the red cliffs. There are more beachfront campsites 13km north at James Price Point, and a large, flat clearing at Coulomb Point on the southern edge of a nature reserve, both providing beach access for four-wheel-drivers.
There are no facilities on offer so the usual camp courtesies apply: make use of your onboard toilet, use only existing fire rings, and take all rubbish away with you.
Location: Travel 10km east of Broome, turn north onto the Broome-Cape Leveque Road and after 15km take a left onto Manari Road and follow the signs to your choice of camp.
Facilities: None, maximum three-day stay, generators permitted.
Pets: Allowed.
Visit Willy Creek Pearl farm.

Manari Rd to Gnylmarung Retreat.
We head to Gnylmarung Retreat. Gnylmarung Retreat is located approximately 150 kilometres north of Broome, on the Middle Lagoon
Accommodation- Camping sites. At Gnylmarung we have about 20 camping sites, some with an ocean view, others are in shadier areas, and some are in secluded bushland. Wash-up sinks are provided at camp sites, along with good drinking water. Bush bbq's are provided and firewood is available. We have a boat ramp and dedicated fish cleaning area. Gnylmarung Retreat has clean ablution blocks with solar heated showers. There is also a laundry with a washing machine, and all we ask for is a gold coin donation. (4 nights - 3 days)

To members going on the trip, I have sent an email regarding the updates.
To the members who are going on the trip and I have not got your email here are the changes.
After talking to a few members going on the trip we have decided to for go any bookings apart from the trip to the Horizontal Waterfalls. ( I will advise when we will need to do this).
The reason for not booking places are below:
*Members are not confined to following the itinerary
*Members can decide if they wish to stay longer or shorter at places
*As some members will be traveling with pets other members will not be disadvantaged if they wish to stay at different locations that don't allow pets.
*Its a trip of lifetime and members can drop in and out of the trip anytime or follow the full itinerary.
*As we have not got accurate numbers of people going and some members may not be able to attend at the last minute, giving exact booking numbers would be too hard.
*Not being held to exact time frames and having the time to stay longer or revisit places along the way.
*We will be visiting some incredible places and do not want to be restricted and not spend enough time at these places.
*More of an adventure than a set tour.
Only 31,276,800 seconds
521,280 minutes
8688 hours
362 days
51 weeks and 5 days
before we head off.

Regarding traveling back from Broome after exploring Cape Leveque some members will be heading back towards Halls Creek / Tanami Track so there is an opportunity to visit the Bungle Bungles.

Just keeps getting better !

Hi Mark
Have you started booking yet?

Hi Mark
Have you started booking yet?
Greg & Lyn Richardson
I have not booked the horizontal Falls tours as yet as the company advised to call them late September for prices. I will email everyone once I have firm prices on a number of tours and members can decide what tour they would like to go on if they wish.
Still doing work behind the scene with some places to get some special spots on the trip.
Watch this space ;D
Mark
-
Thx Mark. Can't wait. GreG & I are going to do the full blown all for the Horizontal Falls as it will be a once-in-a-lifetime event for us.
Cheers

Just thinking fuel capacity at the moment. Is the 350 klm from Drysdale to Mitchell Falls and onto Kalumburu the longest leg without a fuel stop?

Yes it is.
Fuel is available at Drysdale, Kalumburu and Mt Barnett. I will be carrying Jerry cans, the joys of a petrol cruiser. :'(

Mark, will there be a chance to get to the Bungle Bungles or are they a bit far south?
