Post by: Camp_sp on June 29, 2016, 05:39:29 PM
Hi everyone Peter here been lurking around here for awhile I thought I better join up  :) We are young family currently tent based camping though we definitely don't get out as much as we would like. Love the amount of info that is available on here and you all seem really helpful.
Keep up the great work  :D

Gday Pete,  another Mackay swagger here. There are some Great spots around the Mackay area to camp at, the more you look the more you will find. I Might have a quality Aussie made camper trailer coming up for sale soon if your going to be in the market for a really good soft floor👍

Thanks for the welcome guys,
Great to see some fellow Mackay swaggers on here also. We used to camp up at captains crossing but gave up on there as every time we went we spent half our time cleaning up after the grubs that been there before us. We now go to diggings most of the time but trips are on hold until I get a replacement battery to run the fridge and some solar to keep it topped up. Got to keep those drinks cold  Jackster1 why the sale are you upgrading to hard floor or van? We are looking at moving on from our current oztrail 4 man tent to a canvas tent from the campmor range. They look unreal and bulletproof but there only dealers are in Sydney so thinking of taking a flight down before I commit.

Yes mate, just looking at giving something different a go. I'm torn between keeping it or selling and getting a jayco. Im scared I'll regret it if I sell but also keen to try something different.

Yeah I'm holding off on the whole camper thing for awhile. I've been looking for a few years now but I change my mind every 6 months on what I want haha. I originally was happy with the idea of a soft floor but leaning more and more towards a Jayco or hybrid style now as don't want the hassle of so much canvas and a quicker setup. I really like the new Bruder EXP-6 looks like a weapon but unless I win lotto sometime soon I don't see that happening

Leave it too long and the young family will be off having a family of their own!

Not wrong there we cant get over how quick they are growing up  :o Although it will be nice when they can start helping me put the camp up rather than pulling it down

Thanks Tracker, yeah there are always a couple . Yes there does seem to be quite a few now I was doing a bit of a search for the locals the other night and was quite surprised. I think that would be a great idea, we would definitely be in for that as its been a few months since we got out.
On another note how do you find the BT50 have you had any issues? Dad has the same shape as yours a 2012 model I think and has trouble with the screen on the dash shutting down on hot days, other than that no problems at all  ;D  I have the first model "2010" and haven't had an issue with it yet been a great rig and had a 2006 model before it with no problems either.

Nice there are quite a few of us aren't there  8)
That's a plus dad has no end of trouble with his overheating, the dealer has been really helpful with trying to fix it but unfortunately they have run out of ideas. They've got countless replacements in and were even pulling them out of the demo vehicle they had on display trying to find out what was wrong. In the end they told him there was nothing else they can do  ??? The only thing that dad has found that helps is to put a sunshade up and leave the windows cracked slightly. Its good to see on the latest revised model that they have moved the screen down in the dash where all the other makers put there's, hopefully that helps keep it a bit cooler.
