Not bad for none who varies their load from trip to trip.
I think his boards were a bit too close to the scale. Too close that might give a lower reading as some of the weight could be on the board and scale at the same time.

But a few claims went amiss.

Save thousands in fines. I'm sure after first fine (100's) for being overweigt would stop it happening again.

First time never before in Australia, except for these guys https://intertradeholdings.com.au/towsafe-caravan-and-vehicle-weight-control-platform-scales.html (https://intertradeholdings.com.au/towsafe-caravan-and-vehicle-weight-control-platform-scales.html)  not sure which was first but they both have links from 2016

Where do we pack all these scales and extra stuff to get the most advantage.
Drivers door, Rear of the tow vehicle, rear most section of the van, camper.
Or do we add a tool box on the very back, to house all of this, for getting an advantage at the Tow Hitch.

The weighbridge at Tolga has not been there for over 5 years, yet it is on that listing.

Yep, there are 3 listed on the GC, 2 at rubbish dumps, one at a scrap metal dealer.

Those 2 dumps closed in 2011 & 2014, while mates who have gone to the dealer say it depends on who you get on the day - some of the staff say yep, come on through, while other's tell you to piss off :'(

2 current dumps have weighbridges but Council say they are only for "registration weighing", not just checking to see if your weight is legal or not ???, & the same thing applies - some blokes say fine, other's (in particular one cranky bitch >:() wouldn't help you if their life was at stake >:(

Found this list http://www.measurement.gov.au/Industry/Licensees/Pages/I-need-a-public-weighbridge-licensee.aspx (http://www.measurement.gov.au/Industry/Licensees/Pages/I-need-a-public-weighbridge-licensee.aspx), but that also says nothing on the GC :'(

I agree but how ridiculous is it:
"Tare weight ... is the total dry weight of the caravan as it leaves the factory including empty water tanks and gas bottles"

So you've just built the thing to carry 300l of water + 18kg of gas +another 14l of water in a hot water system but you can sit there & say "See, she's all good" ::)

What happens when the poor bloody owner immediately adds that 332kg of weight, not to mention food, beer, clothes, bedding etc etc etc ??? Wow, you've gone over-weight ??? It's not our fault - you must have loaded too much! >:(

How about changing the rules so that the tare weight becomes the wet weight ie including water & gas, & the van is built to allow a reasonable (~500kg) load over that ???

& if that them means that 90% of vans & CTs can't legally be towed by anything smaller than a truck, then your sales are going to dry up very, very quickly, & we may ::) finally get some sense in this industry >:(

/ >:(

Is towball weight legally enforceable? I know it's often quoted as being somewhere between around 10% of trailer atm. I struggle to get below about 12% but have had no issues when towing.
Atm 1250kg, ball weight on compliance plate 125kg, lowest I can get down to with re arranging gear and full water tanks etc is about 135- 140kg.

I would say if they have a legal figure and your above it, and they weigh you then... your ****ed.
Someone somewhere in an office would have worked out whats the safe ball weight... it does affect lots of things, steering, brakes, etc.

Maybe call those dudes in the article above and ask them.
