Out with the old
« on: December 02, 2017, 05:18:19 PM »
Well thought I’d better post a pic of the new wheels two weeks old and just had it’s first wash. So from the m-ux to the D -max , if it’s as good as the old one I’ll be happy.

If wifey hadn't wanted a wagon (we ended up with a Pajero) we were getting a D-Max. Mate has on and loves it and my Mum has just got a new 6 speed auto D-Max as well. I think they are an under rated truck and very competitively priced.
Cheers, Mike.

I've put 100k on a 2015 D-max for work, a good chunk of it in 4WD. They seem pretty well bulletproof and pull like a tractor, although they ride a little like one too. We bought a car just a few months back, and the missus managed to talk me into (ie "told me we are getting") a GU patrol, because I was already halfway there anyway, but a new D-max was high on the list for a while.

Hi Hookie, I did 120k in the M-ux in 2 1/2 years also used for work and not an issue, I think the new D-Max does ride a bit better than the old one and you can notice the extra power and extra gear also.

The rear coils in the Mu-x would make a big difference. One of the things that has kept me out of a dual cab is the rear leaf springs. Great if you're hauling big loads around all the time, but our car doubles as a daily driver and we like dropping the trailer and going off roading, which is why the overall setup of the patrol won in the end, despite the truly pathetic power and torque from the 3.0 diesel.
The other thing is that my work ute is a single cab with an aluminium box and nothing in it. There's not even enough weight in it to compress the rear springs when it hits a bump. I'm sure a dual cab styleside helps settle things down a bit.
