Me and a few mates that are all music nuts got together when ripping CDs first became a thing and bought these amazing new external hard drive things and plugged them into each others PCs to share our files the old fashioned way...
I recall I needed 2 of the biggest external hard drives available at that time to save all of it.

I remember back in the early days (early 90's) when 96Kbps was thought to be very high 48Kbps was the most common, and I did mine to 128Kbps. I've redone them twice since then though, and to date have ripped close to 1800 CD in lossless (flac), plus heaps of obscure stuff I have found over the years at 320Kbps. The collection is now over 1TB of music and around 3500 albums.

Man, this mob do a wicked version of spirit in the sky.... dare I say, better than the original?
Reminds me a lot of when Joan Jett did her version of crimson and clover waaay back in 83.

Thats bloody great Jeepers, have to add that to the collection and Joan Jett was sensational, her music would sure as hell liven up any party

If you go and watch the 83 clip of Crimson and Clover, at about 18 seconds in, Joan has the most gorgeous smile.

For a brief moment, the rock chick becomes the girl next door.

This is a ripper job of Gary Busey as Buddy Holly waaaay back in 1978.
You can hear it is him singing too.... not like these days.

Love it when I accidentally find stuff on youtube.
Soen are a Swedish prog metal band.  But many varied influences come out  - Pink Floyd, Tool, Jeff Buckley.
Some nice guitar work.

They are appearing at the Crown casino in a month or two and rumor has it my daughters have chipped in and got us tickets.

Ive been listening to Frank Zappa since my teens. The man left behind such a prolific and varied body of work that , every now and then you discover another gem.
I just came across this, Imaginary Diseases, an album released posthumous. Its a collection of live performances (1972) selected and mixed by FZ between 1972 and 1977. Every item was produced by FZ. All tracks were recorded live. No overdubs. Jazz and blues are the style. So for any FZ fans heres an album Im enjoying.

My son has introduced me to Avenged Sevenfold and The Architects. Whilst I’m not a massive metal fan, I am enjoying listening to them.

Might have to keep them in mind next time  I camp next to someone who thinks everyone wants to hear Tucker’s Daughter, American Pie or anything by Fleetwood Mac at full noise!
