What the hell, how about a licence is no longer needed.....

Seems like half the people who have one don't know how to drive, so should never have been given a licence, so yeah, just get rid of them altogether & save everyone the trouble >:( :'( >:D

Qld news today reports Qld Driver's Licences will no longer state that the holder is a male or female after complaints from the LGBTI that it was discriminatory. Appears they do not know if they are male or female ???

Also the height of the holder will also not be stated as that is also discriminatory.  ???

Seriously when will this absolute stupidity stop.  Why do minority groups have so much power?

I wish the media would state who gave the final decision. Who is the idiot who said, 'yep, that is a brilliant idea'.  Name and shame them. Sad really that their greatest achievement in life is to make these kind of decisions.  What is next, no photo as that is discriminatory. What the hell, how about a licence is no longer needed.....

Can't believe this was 10 years ago and the family is no closer to finding out what happened. Spent many years driving in that area and the tracks are pretty well defined, hard to believe you could get lost.

Just read something on the news this morning about ways crims get stuff into jail http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-01-13/cunning-methods-queensland-prisoners-use-to-smuggle-contraband/9325672?WT.ac=statenews_qld

In it, the boss of Qld Corrective Services (an ex-cop) said "one of his top priorities would be to reduce overcrowding in Queensland's prisons, which currently house more than 8,000 inmates." ???

So, what, you let half of them go ???

Just saw this on the box,
A house party get out of control, pissed kids, cops get called.
You could imagine the the 'I didn't do anything wrong' calls
Then ya have adults saying the girl didn't deserve having her head pushed into the road.
Some of these kids act like caged cats, spray & tazers should of been used.
Wtf are 15 yo kids doing carrying on like retarded monkey's these days?
When I was a kid and a copper told you to walk away and go home, you said yes sir and near ran home.
Sorry don't have vid of the reactions from the other kids.

After you get past the underlying reason of the Qld Police union to speak out about speed cameras, that being police jobs, I can only agree with the unions claim. https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/national/queensland/queensland-police-to-keep-sneaky-speed-cameras-20180114-p4yyh0.html

I agree with the Qld police union representative, simply revenue raising. SAs road toll increased this year as did revenue from camera fines, no corealation between reducing the road and revenue.
Lowest speeding fine in SA nought to nine kms over limit is in excess of $360
Thankfully I haven't had a speeding fine in 25 years.

Simply no respect for authority, wether it be their parent, teacher or law enforcement. They all seem to have a sense of entitlement.

Al,
I reckon that is the biggest contributor to the problems that we face today.
Parents have been either to gutless to say NO,
Or they are afraid to say NO to their kids.
It does come down to, Kids need boundaries.

The problem with having high visibility Policing, ie, fully marked vehicles on the roadway travelling up and down the road in clear view of everyone, means that all but the idiot drivers are driving safely.  What that means is the powers that do not look at the roads being safe but just see a drastic drop in tickets so therefore they have no way of measuring how much 'work' an individual officer is doing.

to go back to old school Policing the core Policing policy was the three Ps.  Protect, Prevent, Prosecute.  By being overt ie high visibility and protecting the public and preventing some idiots from driving like idiots, the current crop is to go straight to Prosecuting.  Only because there is a mind set you are only working if you are writing tickets or defects.  The current policy has nothing to do with Road Safety or core Policing.

It's not just parents, but most of the bodies that children come into contact with.  There seems to be this idea that if they say NO to a child they will be the one criticised and made to be the bad one.  When the whole Child Protection  Policy came in there was all the things parents in particular could not do but no told the parents what they could do.  the message never went out that while you can not abuse your children, as their parent you can still lawfully chastise your child/ren when they do wrong.  and this we have as you state children have grown up with no boundaries and worse yet this has been happening since mid to late 1990s so we have a second generation of children with no boundaries.
Cheers

(Not having a go at Police officers themselves) but what we have here in Qld is a very poor Police presence on the roads and it's been that way for ages....time and time again I can drive 200klms to relos place at Gympie and not see a Police vehicle or speed camera other then the fixed units that everyone knows the location of (though the past year there is usually one mobile trailer unit somewhere also that is easily seen). I just drove Brisbane to the Goldy and back again a few hours ago, not a single Police car or bike to be seen, and other then the 2 fixed cameras on the bridges on the run home there was only the usual one trailer camera on the South run.....there is no presence to do anything.

Can be the same down here and I dare say in most places.  Regular road users know or learn where the usual hiding places are.  While you may not see them there is the possibility they may be hiding out of sight waiting for that one idiot.  No different to a fixed speed camera in reality.  they need to be mobile in the flow of traffic dictating the pace maintaining a safe road for all.

I've seen a few parents over the years, who want their kids to think they're cool too.

Won't say no to the kids, want to be hip, a fully sic bro type of parent.

"Ha, all my kids friends think i'm the coolest parent".... that sort of Shit.

All the adults in the street think you're a wanker.
Just a semi-retired, over weight, partially blind, partially deaf, low IQ Aussie with an unacceptable attitude, questionable hygiene and little a dick. (But I still get laid)
